It’s PERFECT!
My poor father is notorious for hitting his head. It turned into a family joke at some point! I even bought him his own hardhat for Christmas one year! Lol!Now that he is older, nothing has changed! He and my mom just moved into their new house. He was so proud of himself one day because he indeed hit his head on something in the garage and came in the house just to brag that he hit his head but he was wearing his hardhat! Lol!Then he said he became too hot wearing it so he took it off for a little while and, unfortunately, while it was off he hit his head again on the corner of the garage door rails which are very sharp metal.God love him, he walked into the house and my mom and I were working on other things and he yelled out that he hit his head again! We shook our heads and smiled at each other. Then we heard him say, “ I think it’s serious this time”. When we walked over to see him we were shocked at the amount of blood that was coming down his head.We rushed him to the emergency room and he did in fact have to have staples. My poor daddy! He’s in his 70s. when I heard that he took off the hardhat because it was getting too hot for him I am mediately tried to find a replacement solution. That is when I found this hat! He loves it! He wears it every day all the time because it’s that comfortable! I wasn’t even aware that they made something like this. It is a blessing! My poor father now has a permanent not on the top of his head where he hit the rail of the garage door. But never again will I have to worry about him having to get stitches because he hits it so hard. I can not thank the person who came up with this brilliant idea enough!!

It's not as incognito as other reviewers have said
Pros- Let me state that this hat is doing exactly what I want. It's not obvious it's a bump cap, and I work in tight mechanical rooms where hardhats aren't even required nor would they work as well as this hat. I like that it doesn't have any branding on it and it's otherwise fairly attractive.Cons- Although it has ventilation holes both in the plastic shell and the outer hat, the front does not. See the photo I included to see what perspiration on a 70F day looks like. Despite the warning stickers on the hat, I will be drilling holes in the front to allow for better airflow.Fitmet isn't great, at least for me. I sometimes have trouble getting hats and motorcycle helmets to fit my oval head, but I am not sure how this is supposed to fit. The front top sticks up a lot, and it resembled a conehead. I took the plastic shell out of the hat and positioned it on my had where it was most comfortable and flat on top of my head. But that ended up with the front bottom of the shell hanging over my eyebrows. I don't see how that is supposed to work at all.I would buy it again, but only because I couldn't find any others that matched the features of this hat. But it would be nice if they worked on making it fit a normal head.

It's a baseball cap with safety
This bump cap has a great shape. It's almost oval shaped, so the sides of the cap are more contoured around your head. It doesn't look like a round bowl sitting on top of your head. It's a baseball cap, but also with safety.

Ideal Protection for your head
To me, this item looks kinda goofy… but functionally it is ideal protection for your head. I’ve working on home Shop renovations that require me working in the attic and up at ceiling height where nails, and brackets are ready to scratch my head. It has saved my head from bumps and scratches in the first project I’ve used it with. This bump hat is very comfortable to wear for long periods. I got the short brim option since that gets the brim out of the way of a head lamp I use. I fully recommend this bump hat.

Better then a hard hat (where permitted)
Most places still require a hard hat but some are starting to allow bump caps, I like the bump caps better for the work I am doing it is way better to wear one of these all day then a hard hat.The hat so far has held up well.Far more comfortable then a hard hat.Light weight and breathable <-these were two keys (beyond the safety requirements) when I was looking into bump cap options and this achieved both so I am happy.

Flawed design - loose and shallow, falls off
Qualifier, I’ve only worn this with a light duty headlamp. So the falling off is partially due to that. 70% the shallow hat, 30% the headlamp. The hat is shallow. I have a normal sized head. If anything, some caps sit too low on my head. This is the first time I’ve experienced the opposite. It reminds me of a yarmulke. The adjustable band is elastic and Velcro with no cinch. So you can only get it so tight, and even then, it flexes. A non flexible band would likey solve this problem. When I wear this hat as tight as comfortably possible, it will often slip right off my head if I lean over too much or for too long.Yes, I have a light headlamp on. But I didn’t have issues with a ball cap. I bought this because to prevent forehead pressure from the headlamp as well as protect my head while working on my car. It’s fine if you’re mostly upright, but if you lean over to look under something, expect it to slide right off your head.

Excelente producto.
