Bought for a friend who loves this classic photographer’s work, it proved to be an excellent gift

A beautiful book of photographs of the Grand Canyon and the Southwest as only Adams can take, all beautifully captured in Black and White, Adams demonstrates his masterly of the subject and reveals the dramatic beauty of the Grand Caynon and the American Southwest. Alongside these beautiful photographs the book contains a number of personal letters to and from Ansel Adams which provide a glimse into the personal life of this great man. A beautiful book.

Beautiful Photos and what I enjoy are the notes, mostly extracts from letters he wrote to his wife and other photographers.

The selection of photos are good. But the size of the book kind of robs them of their grandeur. I did read the dimensions and knew for the price I was paying, it was a bit expensive for such a thin, small book. But I needed it for a project so I had to get it. Also the estimated despatch time was initially 3 weeks. And I got several emails saying it would be a week longer and because I needed it urgently I ordered the Yosemite book in hope that the photos would be usable for what I needed. Then this arrived earlier than the email said and I have 2 expensive small Ansel Adams books.

Small affordable collection, excellent if you're off to see Grand Canyon.

The book showed me what I aspect from Ansel Adams. Black and white pictures of that part of the world I like very much. I love black and white photo's.
