This is a sturdy, well made mini wood stove that might serve as a camp stove in a pinch. I used mine for the first time today with mixed results. I think the effectiveness of this stove will be a function of the dryness and heat value of your fuel. I burned split 2x4 scraps of year+ old Douglas fir from construction that was fairly dry. No problem getting things started but found I needed to constantly monitor the diagonal chute and push more fuel into the combustion zone. Once the fire was roaring at a good pace, I filled a 3 quart aluminum pot with water and timed it to boil. 30 minutes to boil from room temp.The warmth radiated was substantial if within 18” of the chimney. Some ash gets in the pot if uncovered. I’m going to experiment more but my initial reaction is that this would do when no other heat source is available but the Falkon probably would not be my first choice.
