Can't You Sleep, Little Bear?

I used to read this to my son when he was 3-4. He loved it and so my neighbor’s little boy is have a 3rd birthday so I thought he would enjoy the book!

My daughter, now age 37, had me read this to her every night while a preschooler. We thoroughly enjoyed the illustrations!

Excellent children’s book

I ordered this book for my kids because it was one of my favorites as a child. I’m happy to say that it still holds up after all this time! The story is predictable but very comforting and the illustrations are cozy, expressive, and interesting. The lantern styles in particular are fascinating to kids who are used to electric lights. Every home library should have this in their collection.

This is a story with wonderful prose and spectacular illustrations. I love the mischievous "Little Bear" and his antics while "trying" to go to sleep, Big Bear's attempts to read the "bear book", and the sense of caring that is artfully articulated. However, it is the illustrations that warm my soul more than anything else. My 11 year old had a hard week and pulled this off the shelf last night and asked me to read it to her, just to relax at bed time. We both enjoyed the story, marveled at the pictures again (trying unsuccessfully to choose our favorite) and enjoyed a bedtime moment like we used to when she was little. It was delicious! I was delighted to know that memories from years gone by can still provide a sense of security for my daughters. What more could I possibly say to recommend this book? Buy it. Read it. Enjoy it.PS One reviewer indicated that their children are now afraid of the dark as a result of reading this book. Please don't let this dissuade you from trying "Can't You Sleep Little Bear". Our take on the story is that this helps kids with a fear of the dark by showing them that, when bedside lights aren't enough, the moon is there to take care of "the dark all around us" and that there is nothing to be afraid of. I think it is a terrific bedtime story.

Such a cute story. My son has a speech disorder and is autistic, and he’s never been very interested in books. We saw a YouTube video of this story and he totally loved it, so we took a chance and got the book for real. He asks for it every night and sits for the whole story, and it melts my heart. So glad he found something he enjoys that’s helping him improve his attention span and develop a better love of books.

I was so overjoyed to have finally found this book on Amazon. When my daughter was very very young she wanted this book read to her each night. After a move from our townhome several years ago, somehow this book and several others became lost?!When my daughter discovered she was pregnant I thought "How wonderful if I can find it and buy it as a gift for her to share with her child"....it took awhile but how blessed I was to have found it on Amazon.She is now mother to a beautiful son who I am assured will be read this book every night.Thank you allSincerelyLuann Wilson Long

Gift for new, Great Grandson as he grows older. Love the art work, and relationship of Father Bear with young cub. Discusses issues that worry many young children. Taught Pre Schoolers for many years, and this story was always a favorite.

Adorable book with a wonderful story! Good quality product although I had wished it was in a bigger format

Consegna come al solito impeccabile, anche in periodo covid. Quanto al libro: semplicemente adorabile. Ho acquistato la versione pop-up per mia figlia di 5 anni, che lo ha adorato. Le pagine sono belle e resistenti, anche quelle popup, che in alcuni altri libri invece sembrano essere fragili. Le illustrazioni sono deliziose e la storia è il giusto mix di dolcezza e comicità. È in un inglese comprensibile anche perni bimbi piccoli,con frasi brevi e che si ripetono, il che non solo piace ai bimbi, ma aiuta anche a fissare le espressioni. In ogni caso io l'ho preso semplicemente perchè il piccolo orso ha lo stesso problema di mia figlia..e stranamente anche la soluzione adottata da grande orso corrisponde a quella che ho adottato io! In poche parole: soddisfatta sotto tutti i punti di vista!
