The George Herriman Library: Krazy & Ignatz 1922-1924

Really impressive construction for such a large book. These will last a liketime.

High quality, large format, sewn rather than glued. . These volumes are being published every two years as Herriman's work comes out of copyright (95 years from first publication) and I'm crossing my fingers that Fantagraphics don't have any problems with copyright extension. They might - as properties such as Mickey Mouse should come out of copyright in 2024 and Disney is wealthy and powerful enough to fight for a general extension of the copyright period.Interesting fact: William Randolph Hearst, the newspaper publisher and subject of Orson Welles's Citizen Kane, was a great fan and supporter of Herriman.
