Walnut Wood Cutting Board by Virginia Boys Kitchens - 20x15 American Hardwood Chopping and Carving Countertop Block with Juice Drip Groove

This board looks great, as far as I can tell it will last for years.My only problems with it are that it comes with a card (the first thing you see when you open the box) saying that you need to oil it at least once per day for the first six days, and then wax it to seal it. That's not difficult to do, and if anything the appearance gets better with oiling, but that wasn't in the description I read before spending $140 on this board. I could let that go and still give it 5 stars, but the oil and wax have to be purchased separately, for another $40. That's going too far for a cutting board that isn't even ready to use on arrival, despite the description saying you can use it when you receive it.Other than that, there are a few areas on the board that seem like they didn't get sanded with the same fine grit as the rest of the board. It's not enough to give you slivers or anything, but the difference in texture is noticeable, and those spots catch even durable kitchen towels, leaving lint/fibers on the board since the whole thing needs to be repeatedly oiled.If the oil and wax weren't a separate purchase, this would be 5 stars even with the extra time needed before it should be used.

Good size and shape. The groove catches the juice like it supposed to. Well oiled and cared for like all my boards. The groove should have been sanded several more times, at this point it’s hard to tell if it got any more finishing attention than a router pass and one rough pass with sand paper.

Purchased this Feb 1st. Purchased the oil and wax. It's been sitting flat on my counter top and I haven't used it, it is a beautiful board, it warped but after flipping it over its flattening out. I would think elevating the board will prevent getting moisture underneath it and causing it to warp.

A little disappointed with the finish of the cutting board. Several area’s in the juice channel did not get sanded. I bought this cutting board because of Virginia Boys mission statement. For the price, I was expecting it to be perfect.

I'm switching all my plastic cutting boards to hard wood. It's more sanitary and also looks nicer in my new kitchen!
