This is the best tool for the job.
Yes it's more expensive than the cheap, adjustable two-prong tools you see everywhere, but this is the one you want. It is a substantial tool that engages with the entire ring just like the official Mercedes shop version and makes removal and installation a breeze. Spend a little extra and save time and save the struggle...get this one.

Well made! Fits Jaguar X-Type!
I needed a fuel pump ring tool for my Jaguar X-Type (2006 Wagon). I guessed the size needed and this Mercedes tool fits very well. The ridges in the Jaguar fuel pump ring line up exactly with the slots in the tool. The tool is exceptionally well made, feels solid and and the slots are accurately shaped. My Jaguar workshop manual said 52 ft-lbs for the fuel pump ring. I replaced the rings and seal with factory parts and tightened the fuel pump ring to the correct torque without any slips or issues. 52 ft-lbs is a lot of torque. Internet forums imply you can tighten the ring with a hammer and chisel. That's certain to break the ridges on the ring. This tool grips all the ridges and I think essential to get the job done. I'm very pleased!

2007 ML320 - worked great
Replaced the fuel tank seal a few years ago, but couldn't get it tight enough... went a few years and started leaking again if I filled the tank full. After tightening with this, no more leaks.

I used this on my 2009 Mercedes Benz GL450 without a problem. It fit perfectly in a very tight space.

The socket drive is half in drive and had to get a drive adapter to use my 3/8 torq wrench
