Very great deck
These cards are absolutely gorgeous. It has an older look that looks authentic. The pips are pretty and the trumps have the classic Tarot de Marseille feel. The card stock is wonderful and is can be easily shuffled. I highly recommend if you want a nicer TdM deck that is on the pricey side but worth the price.

Clothed celestial cards
The Gassmann Tarot is a favorite deck and I have a few different publications of it. One should be made aware that 4 of the celestial cards in this publication have been 'dressed.' The people in the Star, Sun, Judgment, and World cards were deemed inappropriate by an owner sometime during its history and blotches of ink were added to cover skin. It's most unfortunate and if I didn't own a few other versions of this deck I would have returned this one. However, as a collector, and since it was 'dressed' by one of its owners during its history, I thought it was a curiosity and decided to keep it. But be aware that it is not historically accurate. Cardstock is fine and otherwise the images are beautiful, since the Gassmann is a gorgeous deck.

Great!
High-quality tarot cards. These tarot cards are perfect for gifting. They come in a nice box, and include a helpful guide. The cards are durable, and thick, with beautiful artwork. Good value for the price.

blurry & faded print quality on some cards but not others
and weirdly censored nudity

Beautiful deck, but disappointed in the coverups.
I wish I had read all of the reviews before I purchased, as I would have seen the photos showing the Star, Judgment, World and Sun, which have the nudity covered in a way that looks like a sloppy afterthought. Photos of the Gassman deck online show that this is not true to the original, and you can tell that by looking at the cards. To me, the nudity is an aspect of the symbolism and my interpretation of these cards, so I find reading with them to be rather jarring.Having said that, the deck is still beautiful. The colors are lovely, and the card stock is nice, although a little too slippery for my taste. The box it comes in is a little impractical, as the top card tends to fall out of it, but I will find another bag or box to store it in.

Made from quality cardstock, with quality images printed.
A little on the spendy side, but otherwise good quality prints on some good quality cardstock. Haven't used them for their intended purpose yet, but when i do, I'll try my best to update.

A great, atypical Marseille!
This is a great deck! The cardstock feels thin but sturdy with a glossy finish, which I prefer over thick hunks of cardboard. It's impossible to really capture the color on these. The green is lively and unusual, but the red is INCREDIBLE.I included some comparisons between this deck and the CBD TdM, a popular TdM deck. The Gassmann tarot has a very unique Hanged Man that some readers may interpret differently from the typical TdM Hanged Man. It may be useful to consider who Le Pendu is to you to see how you might read this deck. The other comparisons show how the Gassmann opts to cover up certain figures, such as The Star and The World, as well as two cards I think are particularly beautiful from this deck: Force and the unnamed thirteenth. You may also be able to notice on the comparison photos that this deck is quite a bit wider than the CBD. If you have small hands, the backs do lend themselves well to trimming the edges if you are the deck modifying sort. The little white book included is simple and succinct. It seems to follow the Yoav Ben-Dov school of TdM, which is fantastic for beginners and experienced readers alike.
