Very sturdy little house
Our cats loves her house. IT HAS A REAL SHINGLE. So cool! Good quality and easy to put together. It's big enough for a full size thick cat. It's warm and has a door or flaps. It came with all the parts to put it together and it's functional and cute

Way better than expected!
I bought this little house to use as rain shelter inside a feral cat surgical recovery crate. I fully expected that It would be 'good enough for now' and get tossed out within a few months. It has turned out to be the most well made of all of my outdoor cat houses - All of which cost 4 to 6 times the price of this one. The quality is outstanding! It is assembled in minutes using bolts rather than screws that pull out so quickly from the thin wood usually used for these. The siding is lapped in such a way that water isn't going to get in during hard rains. This is a chronic problem with all of my other cat houses, even those made by the same manufacturer. The wood seems quite a bit heavier and all of the pieces fit perfectly together. It was a breeze to assemble, needing only eght bolts plus six short screws for the hinges. The manufacturer even included an extra bolt. That's something you never see anymore. The hinged roof fits properly. This is a bargain price for an item of the squality. If I had any suggestions to make, it would be that the design of the roof be altered to eliminate the wood edge where water is going to get trapped on the edges of the asphalt. I'm going to caulk this. Also, the screws for the hinges could be a little bit longer and thicker. I don't think they will hold very well for long. Another simple fix. And it is so cute I think it qualifies ais lawn and garden decor! This purchase was a total WIN!

Sturdy but..
I marked it four stars because the odor is overpowering. A mix of Ajax cleanser and vinegar to me, so I let it sit outside for half a day before assembly. Even the instructions stunk. Also, it needs weatherproofing. It is a sturdy little house, not sure why I thought it was bigger than it is, but I like it. I think it will do its job of housing a stray that has taken up residence here. Unfortunately it is not weatherproof, so it will have to be lined with something to keep the midwest weather outside and protect the cat. The floor comes in two pieces and there is space for air flow/weather conditions to come through. I wish there was another door for the cat to escape, but with the size it seems to be impossible so I'm hoping behind my fence will be good enough to protect from coyotes. Was very easy to put together for one person (will need two for roof). Not sure about ease of cleaning it, since it's more of a chalky paint job.IF the roof hinges do not fit properly in the cut out sections, turn the back section around. The open slot for the hinges should be in front and the hinges will set in the grooves perfectly. That was user error on my part so I fixed the review. You will need two people to put the roof on. Also will be properly weatherproofing it, not big deal. I will update this after the midwest winter, but as of right now, I think it will work.

Well constructed
It was extremely easy to put together, all predrilled holes were correct, no gaps in sides or bottom. i easily added some insulation to inside. The only drawback I see is the plastic hanging down over the doorway is heavier than I expected and cat is somewhat hesitant to stick her head in. I think the answer to that is put some food inside. Love the hinged top that will make it real easy to clean when necessary.

Nice product overall but wood is flimsy
The overall construction of the product is nice, the cats like it and looks nice but the wood is very thin, flimsy and easily breakable. Within the first five minutes of assembly a part of the rain cape broke off, with little pressure. Also some of the screws that were included were not the right size, too big and drilled through the thin walls. The sharp tips stuck through the other side and had to file them down so the cats would not get injured when inside the box. Manufacturers need to verify the right size screws, and the wood should be thicker, not so easily shattered. Also, predrilled holes made it more difficult to assemble, had to make some of our own holes to keep the two cape from coming loose. Not a bad product, but it could definitely be improved.

Very cute, easy to put together with basic tools
The product is a bluish gray, not just light gray like the one posted by the seller. It was easy enough to put together, but it doesn't come with any tools. You'll need a pair of wrench to hold the nuts on tight enough to get the bolts secured. I tried my socket wrench, but I think the hardware provided is in metric, and my tools aren't metric. There is a little bit of a smell when unboxing, but I just let it off-gas outside for a few hours, and it went away. It is as indicated, for cats under about 12lbs, but if you're getting this for stray kitties like I did, they're small enough to fit inside. There is no insulation, so if you live in a really cold climate, this won't provide much protection for full time outdoor animals. I added a small cat bed inside for a bit of extra warmth, but I live in coastal CA which is adequate for where I live.I can't tell if any of the cats have been actually spending time in the shelter, but something has been crawling inside of it, because I can see the cat bed has been moved, and there is dirt on the inside.Overall, I'd say it's a reasonably priced kit that is easy to put together. I don't know if the cats in the neighborhood will ever call it home, but I know some kind of critter has been using it, and my intention with buying this thing was to make myself, and hopefully an animal feel better, and it's doing that.
