4-Movie Marathon: Family Comedy Collection (Pure Luck / King Ralph / Ghost Dad / For Richer or Poorer) [DVD]

Like most multiple movie packs I end up with, I bought this for only one of the movies. Getting four movies for about the same price is a no brainer.

Honesty, I bought this entire DVD set for Pure Luck. Pure Luck is one of my favorite Martin Short Movies (along with Captain Ron and Prince Charming). As far as I can tell, this is the first time Pure Luck has been on DVD that wasn't an "Amazon Exclusive". Pure Luck is hilarious and if you haven't see it yet, I would highly recommend it. The Video Quality was 9, Audio was 9, and had subtitles. The set comes on two dual layer one-sided DVDS with King Ralph and Pure Luck on one DVD and Ghost Dad and For Richer for poorer on the other DVD. The DVD label is marked March 2010 so this a very recent release (as of 19 March 2012).King Ralph is an excellent movie, highly recommend. John Goodman becomes king of Great Britain and hilarity assumes.Ghost Dad is funny. Bill Cosby is in a car accident and his ghost is thrown out of his body (apparently, it is genetic because his daughter and his dad can do the same things).I have not seen "For Richer for Poorer" yet so I can't really comment.

I have always loved King Ralph. And For Richer or Poorer is a very cute movie! The other two are just OK but it was a deal just to get the first two at this price.

A 4 film value pack that's fun and family friendly. This one has something for everyone. The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle is a comedic throw back to the golden age of animation, blended with live action. Josie and the Pussycats, also based on animation from back in the day, speaks to the rebel in all of us while being set to a rocking soundtrack. Mchale's Navy, based on the classic tv show, is filled with hilarity and military mischief. Thunderbirds, also based on the show of the same name, has enough action and adventure to keep the whole family entertained. All this, and at a great price too.

Shipping was a little slow, but discs are in the right format and they play well and decent quality. Definitely recommended!

I really only bought this for one movie “Pure Luck” but the others looked good. I love that movie it’s hilarious and fun!

I am not a person who needs to see multi million dollar productions all the time, especially when they aren't really that good. Those quirky low budget films do just find. What I like about this product, is that three movies that give me a chuckle are on 1 DVD. Pure Luck reminds me of timesnothing works. King Ralph is so great about a fish out of water, who must adopt but not at the expense of losing one self dignity. and Richer or Poorer , is another fish out of water movie. I get a chuckle every time I watch them. And you save money too

I was ecstatic when I first heard this 4-pack was available. I had already owned "For Richer Or Poorer" but was willing to replace it for the sake of the other three movies in the set....especially since "Pure Luck" has only been released as an Amazon exclusive. All 4 films are presented in anamorphic widescreen. The back of the case states that "Ghost Dad" is presented as 1:33:1 full screen, but I assure you that this is a misprint and that it IS indeed widescreen! The set contains 2 single-sided discs with 2 films on each. I was a little worried about compression issues having 2 films crammed on one disc, but picture and audio quality were just fine. Note that there are absolutely no special features on this set pertaining to any of the 4 films. I hope Universal sees fit to release more of these, as they seem to get it right.....unlike Warner Bros. whose "4 Film Favorites" collection have always been a mixed bag of both widescreen & full-screen presentations, not to mention the use of dual sided discs. They should definitely take a cue from Universal on how to put out a proper 4-disc collection. If you're a fan of 90's comedy, you really can't go wrong with this.

So funny, and such a great deal at an incredible price! The four movies included are Pure Luck starring Martin Short and Danny Glover, King Ralph starring John Goodman, Ghost Dad starring Bill Cosby, and For Richer or Poorer starring Kirstie Alley and Tim Allen. I must say my favourite out of the four is Pure Luck, the movie stars Danny Glover as one of the best cops trying to find his boss's daughter who's been abducted in Mexico along with the klutz-prone Martin Short as his sidekick whom he believes bringing Short's character will result in finding and rescuing the millionaire's daughter. Definitely a good purchase, our family loves Martin Short, perfect for a family movie-night!

This is a cheap way to own four lost comedies on DVD. Although they may not be as funny as you remembered they are still a nice trip down memory lane. Be warned, they have all dated badly but still remain fun.

Christmas gift

Ordered this movie and it arrived on time - no issues. I was originally after Pure Luck and I have to say, this movie was as funny as I remember. The other movies are a bonus - great family comedy collection. Highly recommended.
