Great purchase for fitness and ballet
Edit June 2021. This has been an excellent purchase for my home. It still looks new nearly 5 years later. Thanks! Not often you spend money and get more than you expected.First. This company was excellentto purchase from. I have had my ballet barre for over a year. I like that it's sturdy, easy to assemble, and "can" be disassembled if necessary. When I first received the barre, there was some shipping damage. They shipped the replacement parts to me quickly. I love how sturdy the barre is. I'm overweight and this barre easily handles my weight during exercise. It helps me achieve deeper stretches and better posture during ballet practice and general fitness. I would gladly purchase it again.I think the shorter barre is perfect for an apartment. I realize if I'd purchased the longer barre I'd have a hard time finding an appropriate place for it. The barre does take up room and it's not the most convenient thing to disassemble. If you've a small space--make sure before hand that you have enough space to keep this assembled. This not a barre to take to and from a practice class. Those cross barres for stability mean that it has some serious heft to it.So in short, it's easy to put together. No, I would not want to put it together everyday.Yes, I would purchase again. Customer Service is excellent.High quality materials and structurally sound. I feel safe using it.

wobbly for the price
they do try you can tell in the construction to make it sturdy but it simply is not solid to withstand movement against anything but the lightest touch. barely passable for home use; would get destroyed in a studio

So sturdy yet lightweight
I decided to get rid of my Pilates machine. It had been in storage for years while I was in the throes of elder care with no time/energy for exercise. When I decided to turn my son's former bedroom into an exercise room last month, I dragged the Pilates out of storage, set it up, and realized that (1) it's a PITA to open/close/move; (2) leaving it open meant constantly tripping over it to get to the TV/laptop; and (3) I never really liked it in the first place; I had convinced myself I liked it due to the cost and the fact that sending it back to QVC would have been a Herculean task. So, I started looking for an alternative and read about barre exercises. I briefly considered the Fluidity Bar, but the price was outrageous, I don't need or want a mat, and I don't need or want something else that folds up. More research led me to various ballet barres, and finally the Vita Vibe Fitness Barre. I realized this was my best choice.Perhaps I'm directionally challenged, but I did NOT find this easy to put together! I eventually had to loosen all of the connections of the foot bar and foot bar supports, line everything up, and gradually tighten all of the connections. Once I had the cross bar in place, I had to loosen/move/tighten things again so the foot bars were perpendicular to the cross bar. This barre is sturdy yet so lightweight. I'm just learning barre exercises, and it's a cinch to reposition it from in front of me to the side so I can follow along with the video when they change positions. The cross bar has a bit of texture which prevents my hands from slipping when I sweat. I also put it in front of me when I use my Sunny Twister Stepper in case I need a balance check. And unlike other exercise equipment I've owned in the past, this makes a really excellent clothes hanger!Update 4/15/16: Sadly, I had to rehome this when I downsized not long ago. When I bought it, I had a bedroom I could use exclusively for exercise. I no longer have such a room in my downsized home, and this is too large, and too difficult to assemble and disassemble (for me, anyway!) for my guest room that doubles as an exercise room. It's now with a family in my former neighborhood. They have two young girls who do gymnastics and dance, and they love it.

Vita Vibe Fitness Barre
I ordered this fitness barre to use with some barre based workouts I have in the hopes for something much more effective than a chair. Even though it wasn't Prime eligible, it arrived within three days and I was able to easily assemble it on my own.Once assembled I tried it out, and it really is great for fitness use. It is more sturdy than a standard ballet barre and I didn't have any problems with it leaning or tipping to one side. The height can be easily adjusted without being too loose to where the bars slide down during use.I did have to return the barre though because it didn't fit my space requirements, but that was my fault for not thoroughly measuring my space allotment. The return process wasn't as smooth as I had hoped for though, I had to contact the company three times before being able to speak with a customer service rep. It was just because they seem to have very limited hours, not because they wouldn't help; and once I was able to speak with a representative they processed my return immediately. My only complaint with the return process is that I was told by the company's representative that my return shipping was free, and when I arrived at UPS to drop off the barre I was informed I had to pay return shipping. The return shipping for me was just over seventeen dollars, which didn't seem horrible for the size of the package, so I just paid for the return shipping myself. If I had been either told by customer service that I had to pay return shipping or had they processed my return to include the shipping I would have given the barre 5 stars.

Super Beautiful,Stable - but a Nightmare Assembly
It's construction and quality is excellent. Looks great when put together. Doesn't move around once everything is tightened. None of the legs come up when you lean on it. It's about as stable as you're going to get without it being attached to a wall. If you use it for ballet, the orange cross bars get in the way of your toes while pointing but it's worth it for the stability and how good it looks. Putting it together? I called it the devil more than once. It frustrated the hell out of me. I read the other reviews about people saying it was difficult to figure out. I looked at it and thought, 'how much easier can it be? It's like four pieces.' LOL - wrong. After swearing at it and trying four or ten different combinations, someone else in my house walked and looked at the one page directions and said, 'This looks easy.' I just laughed. Two hours later I had some how MacGyvered it together. The idea of taking it apart again if I move is _out_ of the question. I will just drop if off the balcony and let the movers take it in one shot. It's super light. It's gorgeous. I have the four foot one in my bedroom. For all the trouble it caused me (and I know I have the orange crossbars done wrong) I absolutely love it. The rubber feet on it are soft and don't scratch the floor. The coating on the bars is beautiful. I didn't know if I would like a metal bar, but I do. If they had an 8ft one I know I would buy it for the living room and then leave it there when I moved. lol - the problem with the assembly is where the orange crossbars rise up and meet the main bars. The instructions do not show at all how the clamps should connect. And trust me there are many combinations -- backwards forwards, stacked, reversed, upside down - and two different types of clamps they give you - and it doesn't show where to attach the crossbar hole on said clamps. There's a few options for that, too. Doesn't show which what the foot bars should face or which way the clamps should face in relation to that. The combinations are many without clear instructions just a black illustration that shows nothing about the connections. I still have four clamps I never used. I have no idea what they are for. The instructions are just awful. Updated, clear instructions would solve this issue. I looked on the website and zoomed in to try to see how the Amazon picture showed the clamps meeting the orange crossbars. They way it looks on here was not possible for me to achieve. I've set up desks with metal, wood, glass and 10 pages of instructions that took me all day that didn't make me a tenth as angry as this barre assembly did. But despite the incredibly frustrating initial experience? This bar is gorgeous. It's kind of ominous in a room. It looks formidable. It beckons you. It's like the 'Christine' of dance bars. It's strong, sleek, sexy and capable of killing you -- but you can't help but love and admire it lol
