Ivermectin saves animals!
I live rural! Buy it and be ready! Perfect for chickens or outside critters. They WILL get mites, chicken lice, fleas, etc. ivermectin is the one who rules them all. Animal safe and works amazingly well.

My Go-to
This will always be my go-to for deworming my animals. It works on just about any animal, and works so quickly. It’s worth the price, and goes really far. It’s safe for your animals and if you overdose a little by accident it just makes them a little loopy for an hour or so, but no lasting effects. And no mess with trying to give it to the animals orally.

So far it's working!
I wouldn't recommend self-treating your guinea pigs if you've never been through mange mites before, but for those who have been there and done that, this pour-on version of Ivermectin is an effective alternative to an expensive trip to the vet. When my newest young guinea pig, recently purchased from a pet store, started scratching and losing small clumps of hair, I dreaded what a trip to the vet might entail: a painful scratch test (which would probably show nothing), antibiotics (cha-ching), meds for mites, etc. Very expensive. I read about Ivermectin and decided to give it a try.Fortunately, my order arrived quickly. Took about a week and a half to see some improvement in his scratching, but a month later, my piggie looks like he's back to his old self.Advice to those trying it:1. READ the directions carefully. Read them again. Study them. Follow them to the letter.2. Weigh your animal ACCURATELY. It's VERY important to get the dosage right. Too little, it's ineffective; too much, you could cause permanent nerve damage or death. (I bought a small scale that dieters use--perfect for my cavies. Measures to the gram. Also found it on Amazon!)3. Use the correct needle-less size syringe.4. Wear gloves to avoid touching the solution. (Ivermectin is a medicine for humans as well.)5. STERILIZE the cage. (My vet several years ago instructed me to use 1 part bleach to 9 parts water in a spray bottle. Rinse well. Don't forget to spritz the cage bars too. Also rinse them well. If you don't clean the cage thoroughly, the mites can hop right back on after the med wears off!) Throw away your cavy's wooden chew toys, and invest in new ones.6. Check the bedding and hay you are using. They could be the source of your mites.7. If you have multiple guinea pigs, treat all of them, even if they are not showing signs of mites yet.8. Don't bathe your piggies again until the entire treatment is done.Mange mites are not only a torment to animals, they can also be fatal. Getting rid of them is a real headache, so you'll have to cleanse the living space in addition to uisng Ivermectin on your pet. (There is a picture of a cow on the front of the bottle, but I understand that Ivermectin can also be used for horses, goats, cats, and some breeds of dogs--but not all!--in addition to guinea pigs. There is enough liquid in the bottle to last for hundreds of guinea pigs! Not sure when the expiration date is.)Good luck!

More info on Duevet Ivermectin & some other suggestions for Demodectic Mange
This is a continuation from last notes about using a 1 ml syringe with out the needle. If you do the correct dosage calculations even for 17 lbs it is less than 1ml. ( To get the correct dosage weigh your pet first and type in the pounds x 1ml / 22 for example: 17lbs x 1ml divided by 22lbs = 0.77ml)I state my concern as my career used to be a scientist in the Drug Metabolism Dept & when one uses this particular drug you Need to have the Correct Dosage as not to have long term affect or to tax the kidneys or the liver.I also wanted to recommend a few other products that is been very helpful:For the affected areas, I was applying a combination of Arnica ointment, Triple antibiotic ointment, Bag balm & Tea tree mix them up together in a small container. Over the course of years, none of these items individually worked but together especially once I added the tea tree it was more affective and there was less licking. (You may want to use a soft collar for a few days until it heals up a bit if the back, legs or under belly are really bad.)For sever itching on the belly you can spray Excel Hydrocotisone Spray. Make sure you put a cloth over the belly and rub it in until it drys.I also at the same time ordered the Goodwinol ointment & Dr Harvey's E-mune Supplement. On the affected areas, I put the Godwinol on first sparingly then applied combination that I mixed up over top og te Godwinol.I then mixed up the Emune Support(as a top dressing on the food) Everything cleared up in a few days and the areas got better with no licking or scratching!! (It is also helpful if in the beginning you comb out the dog each night & use a rake comb and not a regular comb or brush. For several reasons: does not hurt the affected areas and easy to clean and disinfect in between the badly effected areas. Also it is better to use in case it is the sarcoptic mange which is contagious to other areas and humans)My vet & I have been struggling for 3 years since I have adopted this 6 year old long hair Dachshund, He has had chronic infections & rashes and constant phases of hair/fur loss every few months & no matter what test we did it always came up negative & no matter what treatment or surgery we did was always only a temporary relief. I am so glad I do not have to give him any more Zertec or rounds of antibiotics.Because he has so many allergies even to grass, & certain foods he is on a great food with special treats. So you might want and make sure that you eliminate these conditions first before using a pesticide. As for the E-mune supplement the product has many nutritional items that I used to feed my husky's as a top dressing (at the time it was designed for humans) and they both lived to be 18 1/2 years old. This supplement was part 2 of the 1, 2 punch. This was a significant part as I have believed that my doggie has some kind of auto immune dysfunction and the supplement just filled in the blanks that he needed nutritionally to get his immune system to function normally. The Ivermectin will be the icing on the cake! DMG is also helpful especially if you see blackness on the belly that seems to come and go.Lastly, I want to Thank all those who wrote in with such Detail that was so helpful to me to select some of these items so that my Teddy acts like his normal self, running, waging his tail and playing with his toys & to finally have hair & fur again! It has only been 2 weeks but I have seen an amazing improvement in less than 2 days.Because I got these 2 items first, I tried them first separately to see what was working and did not do the Ivermectin pour on this month. I will use the next month to complete the treatment or if I see a return of the Demodectic mange since from what I read it does not kill the eggs just the adults. (Once I find a 1ml syringe)Update 20 Dec 2013: Ah..true to form the mange started to returned, as did a milder version of scratching and chewing. (45-60 day cycle) I gave him the Ivermectin pour on and four days all the bumpies are gone! no more scratching, chewing or loss of hair/fur.Teddy is 20.5 lbs and I used 0.93ml. Please remember for small dogs, for an accurate weight reading on a home scale you need to weigh yourself first and then you & your dog. Home scales are not accurate at the lower end. To prove that point when we weighed teddy only it said he was 17lb so it was off by 3.5lbs.Just a little hint.. whenever I use a pour on I always put a sleeveless T shirt on the dog for 24 hours. This way the pour on really works better and gets absorbed in the fur & the body ( and not on the rug or the furniture). Of course it is better for the humans so you do not have to worry about touching that area. What a difference! I have never heard him bark so much, it as if he is talking and sharing information, the toys are all over the place and now he sleeps peacefully for hours. He is so funny now. It also seemed to me that he was constipated for a few days after the Ivermectin.Oh yes, I also added Zukes beef hip action Treats just in case the Chicken strips were contributing to the itching, they are chuck full of goodies and they smell so great! They are also sold on amazon. So for about 35.00 problem solved.Hope all this info will help someone with the same situation and you can get all of these items on Amazon and most had free shipping.

It Works!!!
At first I was leary of this product after seeing it was primarily used on cattle, so I only used at first 1 ML. on my 50 lb. dog. She has had a severe problem with demodex mites for the last year. We spent hundreds of dollars taking her to the vet and it would only relive her symptoms for a couple of weeks. But after increasing the dose to the recommended 2 ML per 50 lbs of weight she has shown improvement! I give her a small dose every 4th day. For the money, it has been well worth the purchase.
