My kid has an amazing profusion of toys. He particularly loves his choo choo trains. And of all the trains we have, out of a jumbled storage bin full of tracks and trees and assorted train cars, this is his go-to, favorite set. He will sort through everything in the bin to put all these together.We've had these for nearly a year, they're holding up well under heavy toddler use. There's wear in the paint along the edges, but they still look great.These are more sophisticated, realistic, and detailed than most wooden trains provided for this age group. Magnets are powerful and work well. Nothing but raves from us!

Seriously, these are super cool! We've had them for well over a year now, I want to say approaching two, and there have been no defects or problems of any kind. I got them to use with our Melissa and Doug sets, because the engines just weren't anywhere near so cool looking. These fit both of those track sets well, and they've held up to my son trying to chew on them. Ok, succeeding at some points, but I do try to keep him from chewing on anything with small wheels, so they've never spent a ton of time in his mouth, but they survived what time they did spend there with flying colors, and have held up to our use, and we do use these as toys during his therapy sessions.

My son plays with these all of the time. They are very attractive and of high quality. The magnets are strong enough - but could be stronger. However, I can string all of these together and drag them along - as long as the track is properly hooked up :-) any bumps and the cars get separated pretty easily. In any case I will look for more Maxim branded wood train components - they are great and a great value! I would recommend!

Great trains! They are of very good quality. The colors are vibrant. They have withstood several months of toddler boy plat with minimal marks, scratches, and no loss of pieces or paint really. his last set the magnets were not strong enough for him to pull the engine without losing the caboose, but these are strongly attached, wind about the track easily. They run just fine on the Ikea train track and fit comfortably through the tunnel.
