Really nice car Seat!
This is the third Car / Booster seat I bought for my 6 month old Mini Aussiedoodle and I wish I would have found this one first. One of the other ones was the kind you hand around the headrest of the seat and buckle in at the bottom to the seat belt. It always tipped sideways and the top rim had absolutely no padding at all just a solid bar with the material covering it. The Lookout car seat is so cushiony but sturdy. It comes with a lead with a clasp that hooks onto the car seat and hooks to your dogs harness to keep them safe and secure. It’s roomy so she has lots of room to grow. She sits high enough to look out the window and has enough room to lay down for those long trips. I highly recommend this car seat to anyone who is reading this trying to make a decision on if this is the right one to get. Yes yes yes! Don’t waste your money on the other brands and make the same mistake I did. Yes, it costs a little more but it’s worth every cent.

Well-made booster seat to let our small dog cruise in style and comfort
We bought this booster seat as a more comfortable option for our small (10 lb) Cava Poo to ride in the car. It secures with the car seat belt & has an adjustable harness to restrict the maximum movement allowed. Our dog had been a bit uneasy riding in her kennel, and seems to enjoy riding in the booster seat much more. She's relaxed, enjoys the view, and has ample space to lay down & nap.

Love this booster seat
Ever since we got my dog as a puppy, he has hated riding in the car. He gets carsick and would drool, sometimes even vomit, while riding in the car. While researching treatment for dog carsickness, I came across some comments from people who said a booster seat helped with their dog's carsickness. It made sense to me, since I know with car sickness in people, it helps if they can look forward and see the road in front of them while driving.I was torn between getting the medium or large size. My dog meets the weight recommendations for the medium, but other people said they opted for a larger size so their dog could comfortably lie down. I ended up choosing the medium because the large would have taken up half the back seat of my SUV. Glad I went with the medium - it's the PERFECT size for my dog (as a reference, he's about 21 pounds and measures 20 inches from the base of his neck to his tail). It's large enough for him to comfortably lie down and the sides are low enough to rest his chin on it. We installed it in the middle of the back seat and there's still enough for a person to sit on either side of him.I did have a little trouble with the installation at first. I followed the directions, but it seemed a little wobbly and not very secure. I realized I could get a tighter installation if I pulled the seatbelt ALL the way out. While holding the fully extended seatbelt, insert it into the clasp, pull the lap belt part REALLY tight through the slots in the back of the booster seat, and hold it tight while I let the shoulder belt part fully retract. By doing it this way, the seat belt locks and you get a really tight installation - the booster seat barely moves.I do plan on buying a different strap to connect my dog's car harness to the seatbelt, though. I read several reviews from people who said their dog somehow managed to step on the latch to open it slightly then got their leg caught in the clasp. Also, the fake sheepskin sheds a little, but I'll probably just put a small blanket over it, so not really a big deal.I took my dog for a ride today to test it out. He jumped right in it when I told him to go to his "bed". He layed down during most of the ride, but was still able to see out the front window. He would even sit up and look around when the car was stopped at lights. He still drooled a tiny bit, but not nearly as much as usual. I'm hoping he'll grow to enjoy riding in the car once he gets used to his new seat. If nothing else, at least it's a much more comfortable and safer way for him to ride.

Excellent car seat - So glad I bought this!
Note: I bought this in February 2018, and am reviewing it in June 2018. I wanted to use it for a few months before giving a review. My dog has never liked to travel. We tried many things, from seats to covers, to different types of crates/carriers. He'd whine and get car sick in all of them. I talked to my vet, I looked at other pet owners' advice, and tried many techniques to try to soothe my dog's nerves. Nothing worked until we got this bed. When we got the bed, we put it out in the living room and he jumped right in, and after a few days we moved it to the car. The very next ride he was relaxed and had no more car sickness and very little crying. After a couple of rides, the crying was gone and he was snoozing or watching the countryside whir by. Now we go for short trips several times a week, and he acts like he was born to ride along! This seat gives him the ride height so he can look out the window from both the front and the side, as well as keep him out of the heavy rays of sun that tend to shine brightly on the seat of the car. It is solid foam, so it is very comfortable. The sherpa lining is also comfortable, though sometimes I do cover it with a sheet to help protect it.I fretted over the size - my dog is 25 lbs with long body, short legged build. He is a terrier/poodle mix, so imagine a solid, corgi-like body. We got the medium and as you can see from the picture, he has plenty of room to spread out if he wants to. It seems like the perfect size.We have put this car seat in the fronts and backs of both a Nissan Rogue and a Toyota Prius, and it has fit fine. It does fit snugly between the console and the door in both cars' front seats, but it wasn't a problem and, if anything, helped secure it. When in the back seat, it took up about as much space as the front seat in front of it, leaving plenty of room for another passenger.I'm very pleased with this car seat!
