Good shoe, but ease into it. .
Hello runners,I'm a 48 year old male and run 35 miles per week. I moved from a neutral cushioning New Balance 759 shoe into the 890. They are definitely light and my speed improved an average of .2 MPH, which is pretty substantial. They fit well, nice and snug in the midsection with still some room in the forefoot. True to size if you own any NB products already.Of course, that lightness comes at a cost, and that's in the form of less padding. Some doctors and running experts are now saying that less padding is actually better for you but, even if true, you might want to ease into running with these if you're weekly mileage is high. I noticed some aches and pains when I started with these and had to back off for a while.Style-wise, I'd like to add that these shoes are different than other running shoes. Specifically, the uppers are made of a thinner, simpler material and the sole seems simpler too. Hate to say it, but the construction comes off as a little "cheap" at first blush, but they feel good like I said earlier.UPDATE: I'm on my third pair of these now, and happy to say that I'm suffering less aches and pains than ever! Knee pain totally gone, don't be fooled by the thinner padding, these shoes work fine!! I'm getting 350-400 miles out of a pair, but I only weigh 160 and my running style is pretty easy on shoes overall, I'd say. Oh, and the simple upper I mention earlier stays cleaner and wipes off easier than any shoe I've owned. I plan to keep buying these as long as NB makes them. . .

Best running shoes from a mediocre runner
I was weary of buying shoes online, but after two unsuccessful trips to the outlet malls I needed to do something about my shoes. For the record, I am a Nike fan and have only bought Nike for the past couple of years. I never ran much but that changed last year. I did some research and found these shoes were recommended by various sources. I also liked the price too. I can not fathom shelling out $80 for running shoes. Especially when I am a teacher. These are great. They fit great and have redeemed New Balance in my mind. I've owned a few pairs in the past. Some I liked, some I did not. And those shoes had nothing to do with fit; it was about falling apart too early. But I love these shoes, and I will probably buy my next pair online again from Amazon. I hate shopping after all, and I love Amazon. HIghly recommend.

Excellent shoe
I am 5'10' and 176 pounds. I tread rather lightly, and land on my midfoot. I am also training for a marathon and currently running approx 30-35 miles a week, mostly on roads. My marathon pace is around 3:20~. I have a mid width 9.5 foot and this shoe fits perfectly, with enough room to spare in the toebox to prevent me loosing any toenails. These shoes feel rather light, but not too light. After two runs feel very kind to the feet, but firm and responsive. The shoe feels high quality, and very comfortable. I love the trad design, and the large mesh areas on the shoe.I am waiting a few weeks to see how the shoe ages, and then I might just buy another pair so I can alternate two identical pairs. As always, with NB higher end shoes the material and build quality are noghing less that excellent. This is not a true minimalist shoe, and not a race day shoe. it is flat, and rather light, and offers a great combination of responsiveness and control.More to come in several months.

Great Shoe
I run 30-35 miles a week and have put a couple weeks worth of miles on these so far. They are very light and with a pair of green Super Feet - the best shoe I've found to keep my mild PF and ITBS issues away. I'm 6'2"/175/32yo. My most recent shoe was the NB 1080 - which was too heavy for me. I've moved to a mid-foot strike (or at least less of a heel strike) and the 1080 was overkill after the form adjustment. These are better suited to my changing form and I'm injury free so far.Update - I've been able to up my milage since my PF has now more or less gone away. Is it the shoe? The change in form? Combination? I have no idea. Whatever the cause - I am now running 35-40 miles per week, faster than ever and ordered a second pair to keep at the gym.

Happy with Shoe From Amazon
I always purchase New Balance running shoes as I do put in miles running every other day. Since I was traveling to Europe this summer I wanted to have a shoe that was lightweight(to accomodate the weight limits per bag) and provide the support and cushion I need in a shoe. The NB MR890 did not disappoint. It met all of my requirements and I'm considering getting another. I suspect the shoe is not high mileage, but for traveling about it works out to be a perfect fit. I rate this shoe with "High Fives".

Good right outta the box!
I just got these and took them on a 12.5 mile run. No joke, they can go and they are comfy! They fit right on the money. The toe box is roomy, but nicely snug on my heels. I just blew out my Asics Strike 2 (loved those shoes) and decided to try a different brand. Since there's no way, but the hard way in running; I decided to risk the blisters and go for good run. Thumbs up so far...If they don't make it to the 3-4 months mark, I'll come back and post. Hope this helps!

great shoes,...with one small thing......
First things first - I love these shoes. I only run maybe 15 miles a week right now, but I've been a more serious runner all my life, and these are by far and away the best shoes i've ever worn. The one drawback - on some models the laces just don't stay tied. I actually own 5 pair now, and on some of the ones i bought later they seemed to add some friction/layers to the laces. But the early models,...they come untied sometimes 2-3 times in just 5 miles. I've actually been a devoted NB user for 30 years, and these shoes are the best...light, they fit well,...great shoes. But it is irritating having to stop and re-tie the laces, especially more than once in just a few miles.

NewBalance Men's Runners 890
Like the lightness of the shoe and wide base for stability. The only downside are the laces. They are not the usual type of lace that one would find with runners and they are quite long as well. Overall, I am happy with my choice. KB from Delta, BC
