Item was not brand new.
The bin I received was clearly previously returned by a customer. The returns sticker was stuck to the top of the bin, and it left a mark. Quite disappointing considering the price.

Looks really good for a trash can
After reading several reviews about dented cans I was a bit worried. However, the unit I received was in perfect condition and the packing was also adequate to protect the contents. The only design flaw, if it can be called that, is that the soft close lid does not fully reach the closed position since the friction against the trash bin with a trash bag in place props it open slightly. This could have been considered and the size of the trash bin or the inside of the lid could have been adjusted accordingly. I still like the soft close feature since the lid closes without any loud noise.

A very good looking trash bin
Received it with a big dent, then I got it replaced and I must say it’s a beautiful product that looks nice and works great.

The inner sleeve is not as good quality as previous bins as it does not have a handle so difficult to remove. Would not recommend this unless you don’t mind getting your hands dirty when emptying

Trash bag keeps falling in
The can is pretty but the bag keeps falling in. The one we replaced had a ring that would lift up so that you could secure the bag so it wouldn't fall in. If someone knows a trick to secure it, let me know. It's quiet and works well otherwise.

The best trash can on the planet for the planet
I hate throwing away trash because I know it’s only contributing to even more GHG. Because this brand is cradle to cradle, I feel a little better, but it’s still not enough to offset the waste we produce.

Not as good as the older models. Hope it lasts as long.
Our last Brabantia waste basket lasted almost twenty years!!! The metal pedal mechanism is now plastic. Can’t believe it will last as long. Disappointed in this design change. Now it’s just like every other brand out there.
