works great
works as expected, even the opening speed is not the greatest. It also has no sealing gasket where the flap sits(just a slight indent instead). I've paired it with an Arduino Nano to allow me to install it on a normal cooker hood vent replacing the flappy flap which used to make noise in strong wind. This one is sturdy and I've got no wind noise through ducting any more.

Useful damper but may need additional parts
Installed as part of a ducted bathroom ventilation in a windy location. The normal backdraught shutter was banging like crazy in (the regular) high winds so needed a solution.Three things to note....1) this unit does not interface with UK standard air ducting so you will need some couplers and adhesive.2) the unit is power-to-open and power-to-close so in most cases you will need extra circuitry.3) the terminals block is not enclosed so you need to consider this from a safety pov.Electrically, I linked the switched live of the fan to a changeover (SPDT) relay and then switched the damper from the relay outputs. Worked a treat, the damper had end-of-travel switches so leaving control feeds live.Safety wise, I enclosed the damper such that needed tools to access. It isn't a no-hassle installation but powered dampers are generally excessively costly for a domestic installation given that most powered dampers seem aimed at fire safety.Having said this, in windy locations it is pretty much the only way to avoid excessive cold air backdraught or banging shutters.

Beware if you want to use 2 registers, one open when the other is closed and viceversa.
I bought this register because I needed to replace the motor of a register previously installed. Thus, I removed the two screws holding the motor of this register and pulled off the motor. All the motors of these registers are interchangeable. (Some are 12V, some are 230V.: replace a 12V with a 12V and a 230V with a 230 V or replace also the power supply.) . I use two motorised registers to send the air in one of two directions. When doing so it is important to connect the two motors in parallel. In order to get one open and one closed, assuming both are received closed, one must remove the motor of the register that should be open, open it by hand and replace the motor.

DC- / AC-Wandler defekt
