Well Built for Great Coffee
This is my first and only french press, but from what I've experienced, it's been awesome. This of course gives the delicious coffee you'd expect, but the key factor for this thing is the build quality. It's super solid, from the container to the press pieces. Everything fits and works really well and gives the impression that it will continue to do so. After reading how the colors chip over time, I went with the stainless steel and am so glad I did. It looks great and should continue to do so. One of the biggest reasons I chose this one was because of the company. I haven't had to deal with them, but they appear to be one of those cool, customer focused companies that have put a little extra into the quality side of things and will do anything to make sure you're happy with their products. Just make sure you hand wash all the parts, I would not recommend using the dishwasher. The brewing process:I grind the coffee and little finer than normal french press standards and it works great to give extra flavor (saw a video on this). I get the water to a boil and let it sit a few minutes to cool down. Gator suggests a 9 minute steep with a stir midway through (to remove the foam), but I skip the stir and it turns out great (foam adds flavor!). I then decanter the coffee which is crucial (I use a metal insulated water bottle). This not only keeps the coffee hot, but also allows the sediment to settle. The double screen filters work well and if you're getting too much sediment then you're probably grinding your coffee too fine. The main factor for how the coffee turns out has been the grind consistency. But there's a pretty good window to getting it right even with a blade grinder. I'll also say that if you do go too fine, it's not too big of a deal, because if you used the decanter, it just makes the last couple of ounces of coffee undrinkable - better than weak coffee from having grounds too coarse. Other than that, just make sure you don't burn it or go over 9 mins and you're golden. Super fun process, but just be ready for cleanup, I use a rubber spatula to get the coffee into the trash can (I don't suggest putting it into the garbage disposal). Overall super pleased and I look forward to making the coffee every time I use this thing.

Solid and Functional - Will Never Break
I've been using a french press to make coffee for the last 25 years. The problem with every single model I've owned is that they eventually break. Either I drop one, or I get lazy and start washing it in the dishwasher, and the carafe breaks. Finally, I decided to try a stainless steel version. The Coffee Gator is a reasonably heavy piece of coffee brewing equipment that feels very substantial. I've already dropped it and it just laughed that off without so much as a dent. I'd stop short of saying it'd take a bullet for me, but it inspires that kind of confidence. Washing it in the dishwasher is not going to be a problem! The insulating capabilities of the Gator were not that important to me. I drink my coffee from an insulated mug, but I have noticed that leftover coffee stays hot for considerably longer. Maybe thirty minutes - maybe a bit longer - and I like my coffee hot. It's definitely not a Yeti product, but it's a lot better than the single-walled glass carafe style presses I've used in the past.No noticeable difference in flavor between the stainless steel and glass. Cleaning is the same as any other french press, which is reasonably straightforward. In this day and age, it's hard to buy something that will likely last as long as you want it to without breaking or becoming obsolete. And when you find one at this price, it's definitely a good value!

Simply divine. Coffee Shangrila. Hot smooth French press coffee and cold Americano.
Bottom line:Most excellent product. (Hot, smooth, delicious coffee.)Most excellent vendor. (Prompt, professional, fluent English, courteous.)+ We are also able to make cold Americano. :)Details …The Vendor:Coffee Gator epitomizes customer service. There were couple of mistakes made with their shipment and a defective product. However, their customer service spoke in full grammatically correct English (Thank you!) and were courteous, prompt, reasonable, understanding and professional. I want every vendor, either online or brick and mortar to be like them. They provided gold level customer service.I am a coffee aficionado and love to drink French press coffee and Americano. As does my wife who also loves latte and cappuccino. I have ordered their "Large French Press Coffee Maker - Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel, Silver, 34floz" in February of 2019. Unfortunately, they delivered "gray" version of the press. When I called them, they responded in proper English in full sentences, apologized and arranged for an immediate replacement. I received the correct stainless steel replacement French Press coffee maker promptly. But it turned out to be defective. We noticed a sharp almost inaudible high pitch as soon as we poured hot water into the press. ??? After investigation, we noticed a tiny perforation/hole at the edge of the press. The press is a vacuum double insulated wall. Oops! The press is clearly no longer vacuum sealed and the hot water heated the air, which escaped through the tiny hole making an high pitched sound. So I made another call to Coffee Gator and explained the situation. They promptly spoke in easy to understand proper English and sent a replacement. This time, it was simply divine! The Product:We set out to make our much awaited French coffee and the coffee was PERFECT! So smooth! So rich (yes, we use good beans ...). So divine. We have been using the typical glass design, which is fragile and the coffee is not hot. The Coffee Gator's French Press Coffee Maker's vacuum sealed double wasll stainless steel kept the coffee very hot! It contained instructions to make French Press coffee as well, in case you don't know how to do so. It was slightly diffreent from the way I had done it, but following it, the coffee was deliciously hot!! Yes! And the double filter design and removing the foam in mid process, made the coffee so velvety delicious. If you are a coffee drinker, you owe it to yourself to drink this.Added bonus:My wife and I also love cold Americano. But the machines to make them are very expensive (thousands of dollars for a decent one). On a whim we brewed a stronger French press coffee, chilled it and viola! Cold Americano!!! We used to drive out of our way for a decent cup of cold Americano and no more. Thank you Coffee Gator! We have reached coffee Shangrila.*** Cleaning ***On the review/rating for cleaning, I gave it a 3 stars, not because this product is any more difficult to clean then other French press coffee maker. However, there are many components to a French press coffee maker and it is a tedious process. Just so the buyer is aware, the product and the company (Coffee Gator) are top notch.
