Apply a primer before in this instance.Prepare your Surface. It is very important that the surface is clean and free from dust. If you require long-term protection the treatment must be free from rust, removed with a wire brush and removal; product such as zinc phosphate or red lead. If the surface is new and overly smooth, treat it with a primer or roughen the surface with a wire brush.Directions for use. Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free from dust, mill, scale and loose flaking material. Repair cracks/defective areas and treat fungal or algal growth with abicide solution as directed by the manufacturer. Treat bare areas as new substrate then prepare accordingly. Seal container after use. Overcoating with conventional solvent-based paints will result in bleeding through.
