Doesn't provide the kind of power you need for cleaning up liquids.
I had high expectations for this item, and was unfortunately significantly disappointed by the product. I n the end I returned this item. I had one small mess to clean up which was a spilled can of pop in the cupholder of my car. I attempted to use this device and had to literally scoop up the liquid and let it fall into the collection bin. It has very little suction power, I cannot speak to how it works on a hard surfaces or carpets but in truth this device is not really designed for cleaning these items. I am not unreasonable however and hope that someone else might have better luck with this model elsewhere.

Great for a shop vac
So, I had a DIY room renovation and had to remove my old sheetrock and replace it. Anyone that has worked with sheetrock knows the dust is horrible and a standard shop vacuum will just blow the dust everywhere after the filter loads up. I have used my small shop vacuum and put a hose on the blower port and piped it out the window in the past. This is a pain just due to the length of hose and dragging it around. I have a rainbow vacuum but no way I was going to use it to suck up sheetrock dust and the vacuum system the pro’s use is very expensive.I found the next best thing, the genesis hydro vac. It is small about the size of a 5-gal bucket, but it gets the job done. Run it while you are sanding without the hose and hook the hose up and suck up the dust after sanding. Very little dust escapes the room you are working in.Would I purchase this to clean my house, probably not. Would I recommend this as a shop vac, yes because that is about what it is. The hoses and attachments are just like what you get with a shop vac.

Excellent for small jobs. Easily tips over though.
This little water filtered vacuum cleaner works very well. Easy to get into tight places. Best we’ve had for carpeted stairway and for upholstery. It can even suck up the water from the accidental tip over that happened. Several attachment for various applications. There are no dusty poofs ever. I use an old strainer when emptying the dirty water, so as to not pour debris down my drains.

Arrived broken
It arrived broken and I was given a refund, but they didn’t even want it back. Weird. Seemed like a chronic problem. The vacuum seemed well made and is compact. But, it leaked water everywhere. I couldn’t figure out why they didn’t want it back, did they already have a warehouse full of broken ones?

Worst vacuum EVER
When I assembled this vacuum, I connected the hoses, wands and tank as tightly as they would go. Despite that, small amounts of dirt escaped at EVERY JOINT, for as long as the vacuum was on, blowing back into the room. Also, the manufacturer evidently doesn't grasp the difference between "lightweight" and "flimsy". When I pulled it out of the box, it definitely seemed rather flimsy. I used to have a Rainbow vacuum, and the clips that secured the motor to the tank were tight and secure. The clips on the HydroVac were not all that tight. I was extremely surprised and bitterly disappointed at the poor quality and poor performance of the HydroVac. I received it as a gift from my husband, Michael S Yost, tried it out two weeks later, was utterly disgusted and disappointed. I would have returned it right away, except that I failed in repeated attempts to repack it perfectly. I finally went on YouTube and watched a man unpack a larger model of the HydroVac, and just did what he did, backward, and it was correctly repacked for returning, but by that time, we were several days past the "return to Amazon by" date.

Good for the price!
Let me tell ya. I bought this one cause Rainbows are really expensive nowadays. Paying $2k for a new equipment seems ridiculous to me. I wanted a cheaper alternative. This was a great deal. It works really well! I'm really impressed!!!!

Spits water second use
This is currently laying in my attic after the second use and probably will be put in the trash. It started spitting water when the filter got saturated so unless you want to use it to water your grass might not be a good choice

Very poor filtration
The unit has really poor filtration. If you’re in need of a high filtration vacuum for pets or dusty work, look elsewhere. I was suspect about the filtration when the manual told me there was a filter that would need cleaning. After finding the filter it was a porous sponge. If the water filters so well why does it need a filter? So I made a filter from a higher quality filter material. In my first trial I vacuumed drywall dust for about 30 seconds. I was astonished at how much fine dust the filter caught. See my pictures. The dust completely covered the leading face of the filter. You have to look hard but the pic of the housing has lots of fine dust particles lying in it. The unit has lots of suction and some nice features but it’s filtering quality is fare less that my vacuum with a HEPA filter. I’m really disappointed.
