My budgies are currently on grounded pellet and seed mix diet and I read that they could benefit from a probiotic in addition to their daily multivitamin, I use the one from oasis. Many times a lot of birds suffer from inadequate vitamins and minerals and an unhealthy gut, which is sometimes evident in their poop and/or behavior. Active, singing birds are happy birds. And I noticed that my budgies were more energetic and social after I started them on this probiotics. I’ve been using this product for almost 2 months and I’m happy with the results. Follow the instructions for the dosage. You really don’t need much, just a pinch for small birds but it comes with a scooper for convenience and sanitary reasons and dosage instructions on the container. Just mix it in with their food. Other reviews mentioned adding it to water but I haven’t tried that. My birds are NOT cage-bound. They get plenty of play/fly time and sunshine. Probiotics are a preventative measure so your birds stay healthy. Sick birds need antibiotics, please don’t wait until your bird is sick. Other reviews mention that this helped their sick bird recover from diarrhea and lethargy. Seriously, get it, your bird will love you and you’ll feel like the responsible pet owner you are! :)

Love this easy to use, high quality avian healthy gut probiotic. My Parrotlet doesn’t have a problem with the taste when added to his food. It is working well as evident by his consistent droppings, his feathers and beak are healthy looking.

My pet conure has always looked and behaved malnourished. After adding vitamins and minerals to her diet didn’t do the trick alone, I added these probiotics to her diet. Since then, her feathers, which used to be ragged looking, uneven, and dull, have become healthy looking, full, symmetrical, and colorful. That difference can only be explained by a failure to absorb the vitamins and minerals that she was being fed in the past.I cannot reference other products in reviews. Suffice it to say that I add a tiny bit of probiotic powder (and two other Avian powders, along with freeze dried broccoli and kale powder) to her nuggets [brand name omitted]. I also add a drop of liquid multi-vitamin to her drinking bowl. FYI, I do not add probiotic powder to her drinking bowl. And I don’t mix probiotics into any fluids before adding it to her food. I sprinkle it into her nuggets and that’s it. I have no complaints with this probiotic powder. It doesn’t appear to have an odor and my conure doesn’t reject food that I have sprinkled probiotics into.

I bought this last October in an attempt to keep my parrots from getting crop infections. They greatly love making soup from their food, so we've had issues with multiple infections over the years which has made me hypervigilant and paranoid. We're 6 months in and we've had no crop infections so far (I also moved their food and water far away from and on different cage levels than each other so it makes it a tedious task for them to make soup)! I use a small container cup with a lid, put a scoop of food in, put in one scoop of this powder using the little scoop provided inside, put the lid back on and shake it throughly. This method helps make sure all the food is coated instead of just sprinkling on top.

I'm a wildlife rehabber and these avian probiotics become a crucial element in all of my patients' diets at some point during their healing process. My birds on systemic antibiotics, and the ones that are heavily parasitised, always get these probiotics in their food to help balance the deficit of natural gut flora that are being depleted while they are struggling. The same can be said for my birds that are undergoing the stress of captivity, are going off their food, or are immune compromised in some other way. It's direly important to stabilize and support gut health for wild animals in captivity, so I'm a huge supporter of a high quality probiotic supplement (bonus points for this being dairy free, as avians really shouldn't be fed dairy!) My healthy birds and mostly-recovered patients receive their probiotics twice a week in their meals to keep them on a good track. The price per oz is a little intimidating for someone on a budget, I'll admit, but the results I'm seeing in my patients makes this a worthwhile purchase to me.
