Staple it so that you can lift & sweep underneath
Very substantial! Exactly what I was looking for - stability on painted wood, and ice. Loved the advice of previous reviewer who stated to adhere (staple) only on side closest to the instep. Being able to lift & sweep is GREAT! Provides security and is simply gorgeous!

Great looking
There are really nice looking and i do like them very much. Only problem, and not a huge one for me , is that they don’t stay in place. I have painted concrete steps and they do slide a bit although not so much that I’m afraid of slipping and falling. It’s more of just an annoyance to have to tweet them back into place. They do add a great look however.

Absolutely Beautiful!
I LOVE these stair treads! I got them to use on recently refinished indoor hardwood stairs so my pups don’t slip. Also, I needed something I could easily clean. (One of my pups has white fur that sheds like no other. I had tried carpet stair treads but it was impossible to get the fur off of them.) What I love most about these is the size. They cover almost the entire step, which I think helps to keeps them from slipping. I know some reviewers said that these treads slip, but on my indoor hardwood stairs they stay in place. The pattern is so pretty and the thickness is perfect. Yes, when you first take them out of the package they have a rubber odor. Within a half hour the smell was gone. If you are looking to use these indoors, I would definitely recommend them.

They do not stay in place.
Look good but do not stay in place. Accident waiting to happen. I wish they made a clip or something to secure them to my trek steps.

Terrific
Definitely adds grip to wood deck steps. You’ll need to haul out your shop-vac to clean the treads of leaves, though, a broom won’t work. I nailed the corners down with “NATIONAL NAIL 50098 LB 1-1/2-Inch Fence Staple” (available on Amazon) then painted them black so you can’t see them at all. I’m going to get more for another outdoor wood staircase.

Stays in place
Stays in place really well on our concrete stairs. Helps the dogs navigate the winter ice.

Beautiful
These are stair treads that I used as decoration for a blank wall in the backyard. I'm in love ..you have to think out of the box

Love the look and feel!
Great product and exactly what I wanted. I appreciate the large size. Used the other 3 on my wooden stairs behind my house. I highly recommend.

Just purchased so hard to rate for all weather conditions but…
We have a tricky little area at back of our house that never sees sun…the pressure treated stairs can be slick in wet weather and accumulate a lot of ice build up in winter..thus far..(as just recently purchased)..the treads are resolving the slick rain days…will have to see how we make out in winter, snow, ice conditions as I mentioned it is a tricky little corner that never sees sun for melt off…so we have that working against us. The installation process gets 5 stars lol…rip open the package and throw them down…yes , our large dogs move them around a bit when running outside with zest and glee in their hearts. They have already helped our dogs to get in and out of backyard on rainy days…our newest rescue shepherd was a having a hard time on rainy days with the bare pressure treated wooden stairs…so that is a win IMO🤷🏻♀️…

non slip on your feet, but doesn't grip the surface it is sitting on in winter
I don't slip off the rubber, but the rubber doesn't stick to my deck surface in the outdoor wintery conditions, so me and the rubber both slip together...I need to now find a way to stick the rubber to my deck, then I feel it'll track on my feet and finally work

Does not stay in place
The treads don't stay in place and could be a tripping hazard. Did not work well outside in the winter either. They get covered by small amount of snow and are invisible tripping hazards. If you can find a way to keep them in place (gluing?) then perhaps they could stay in place, otherwise, they don't serve the purpose they were intended for.

Great for winter
Not only are these attractive, they have been extra effective now in the winter months to prevent slipping! The only issue is that you must secure them with screw/washers thick enough to hold down pieces of rubber. Other than that, I quite like them.

Nice looking Mats
I really like these mats, they are perfect for our Cottage stairs. I have doormats of various sizes that match these so I was pleased to find the . I have not noticed a heavy rubber odour that bothers me. They seem to stay in place nicely, there has been not slipping. They won’t be subjected to harsh winter conditions so I can’t speak about the reviews that say they don’t manage in snow very well. I would suspect they aren’t meant for those kind of conditions but seem to be fine in wet weather.
