Single origin oil excellent quality
Comes in a can, which is great for storage. This oil is verified from a farm in Crete, not a blend of oils pretending to be Italian or Spanish but coming from all over. I have no issue with Tunisian oil or Moroccan but if you're blending oils, how good can any of them really be? This oil is single estate. The flavor is fruity but not overwhelmingly or having a bitter bite to it. Good for cooking, dipping and making dressings. Theoretically you should fry in 100% oil not EVOO because heating destroys the subtle flavors but I use it to saute and employ grapeseed oil (high smoke point) for shallow frying. The can keeps the oil fresh unopened (it's metal) and fresher opened (small screw spout.)(Warning; my dog has a thing for this oil and has figured out how to open the box AND the can spout and he poured out an entire can on his dog bed while he enjoyed some. That was an expensive treat, Doggo.) Update: he stole the cruet off the counter (I have no idea how he grabbed it, it's rounded, no edges) and licked up what was in it. He LOVES this stuff and it's true a Tbs or two is good for his coat and skin.

Give this one a try
I am always looking for high quality EVOO and thus decided to try the Ellora Farms product. My wife and I really liked it. It has a lovely buttery feeling with a hint of pepper. In my opinion, it is a great accompaniment to bread, makes an excellent addition to an oil and vinegar dressing, and works quite well as a finishing oil. Highly recommended. Since I am personally suspicious of five star reviews, I gave this product four stars—my highest rating.

Superior product
I recently became aware that the oil I was buying at Trader Joe's for 13.00 dollars for an 8 oz bottle, was in fact not single sourced, but had three different seed oils from three different countries mixed in completely destroying the taste, smell and texture of the oil. Not to mention the toxicity of dangerous levels of bad omegas that clog arteries, not help them. Now why we didn't know this until recently evades us, but I'm not surprised given we are never told the truth here in the United States. Having said this, I purchased this oil and am blown away at the superiority of taste, color and feel between my fingers. It's mild, not overtly strong which suggests to me a purity that other seed oils doesn't possess. It's pricey, yes. But I use less because you can see a tablespoon is perfect. I won't ever go back. Thank you Ellora, for your integrity and providing us a healthy beautiful product.

Very good olive oil
I am a repeat customer for this very good olive oil. The can has a unique top that is functional, and the smell and taste of the olive oil is very good. Since I have been using this olive oil, I have given up butter by 99 Percent.

This is the clear winner!
I was very impressed with this oil and with the care with which the company ensured the protection of their product in shipping. I ordered this oil and one from another company to do a comparison for true olive oil taste and quality. I am a bit of an olive oil connoisseur and wanted the best available from the convenience of Amazon. Both oils I ordered had won several awards and were certified as to purity and origin, something I was looking for. This one is from Greece and the other was from Spain, the world leader in olive oil production. Having lived in both countries, I've tasted their oils first hand, which was the reason for choosing these two for my comparison. This oil was far and away the winner, having a beautiful golden/green color and smooth taste with the characteristic peppery finish in the throat of a high grade olive oil. This is what you should taste and feel when you taste olive oil straight, just as you would a fine wine. It is said that the more it makes you cough, the better the olive oil.The taste was a bit bold, but not overpowering. It will work well with the Mediterranean, Mexican and Middle Eastern dishes I enjoy making. It also passed the "bread test" with flying colors. The taste of it when bread was dipped into it with nothing else added was excellent, a bit fruity and not greasy or bland. The packaging for shipping was also very impressive. The oil arrived bubble wrapped, in a cardboard box with peanuts to ensure stability and safety of the can, as well as offering some insulation of the product against the heat. The other brand carelessly put the can in a standard manila bubble wrap envelope only, resulting in a dented can and the heat from it's time in shipping made the can very hot to the touch when it arrived. Took it over 20 minutes to cool off. Needless to say, the other oil showed the same carelessness in their product and it was not of good color or taste. I don't know if this was from the extreme heat it endured from careless shipping or if the product itself was just of a poor standard to begin with.If you are looking for a great tasting oil that is superior in quality, order this one. You won't be disappointed. This will be the olive oil I will order from now on and look forward to enjoying it's superb taste in all my cooking.
