Dry Out and Run Out Quickly; Leave Grey Line
While these pens are still one of the best tools for marking fabric, there are significant shortcomings. First, the ink dries up if not used (even if left capped). Second, it generally takes two full pens to trace just borders for a quilt! Finally, and most importantly, even though the ink disappears with ironing, a GREY line remains in its place. DO NOT USE on the front of fabric. The line will disappear and then reappear, even after multiple ironings.

They don't work
I have used iron erase markiers before for quilting, but the Pilot brand simply doesn't work. They are too light and half the pens didn't work.

Having four colours means one will always stand out from the fabric you are working on. I found them especially good for patchwork.
