our vet recommended all-canned food diet for my middle-age cats, and they love this variety. it’s expensive so it’s not their exclusive diet, but it’s 1/2 the rotation. keeps their coats beautiful!

I've had my cats on Purina Pro Plan Vital Systems Chicken Flavor for about nine months now. I started our liter of six kittens on this and the hard food when they were about eight weeks old. My three year old tuxedo cat was already eating the hairball line when I switched him to the vital systems. Now it's all that he will eat. When I took the kittens in for their monthly kitten check ups, our vet raved about her healthy they looked. Customers in the lobby were in awe of her shiny and healthy their fur is. They even asked how I get my cats so healthy looking. I always carry a can with me in case I see a stray so I show them the can. However, this is a bit pricey to feed seven cats on. So as soon as the kittens are a year old in a few months I will have to switch them to just hard food. I just wish Purina offered chicken flavor in more of their hard food because my cats will not eat duck, lamb or turkey and my vet told me fish diets for cats are not good for them.

My cats ate this for years. Until one came down with kidney disease and had to start on a prescription diet from another cat food brand.

So I will have to update this review after 30 days, because I literally just received this food after ordering it a month ago. That is more of an amazon issue, so I won’t be deducting a star for that. Anyways, I very slowly introduced this to one of my cats (the other is too picky, so I didn’t try with her) I would give him his regular wet food and add a small dollop of this stuff on the side & gradually add more after 3 days, and so on…to avoid loose stools & tummy troubles. He would go RIGHT for the new food & sniff around his usual wet food as if he’s searching for more of the new stuff. So far, it’s a big hit with him & I’m very happy with that because there is a lottt of moisture to this food which is always good. BUT, the big kicker here is that I noticed my picky little girl walked right past her food straight to his & helped herself! That is REALLY saying a lot because not only is she THE pickiest eater alive, she doesn’t even like chicken! So far she doesn’t seem to be too interested in the salmon. Hopefully this food delivers on all of the promises Purina makes, time will tell.
