Great potential, but ultimately disappointing.
First, let me begin by saying that I am 20+ year veteran in the technology space and have reviewed thousands of products. My mission this week was to wrap up my Christmas shopping. I'm a tech head, so the majority of my gifts are usually innovative, functional and thoughtful tech that solves a problem for the individual receiving it. Trust me, Santa has got nothing on me.I'm saddened that I'm forced to leave such a low rating and somewhat negative review of this product as a result of something as simple as quality control. Much of my responsibility in my professional career revolves around sourcing and vetting products and vendors, so I am a serious shopper and do my diligence whether I'm negotiating deals or contracts on behalf of clients or spending my own money. These lamps came up while I was browsing around the site. I had never heard or Brightech or purchased anything from them prior to buying these. I honestly had no intentions of even buying anything for myself, but we all know that rarely works out as planned. However, I read all the reviews, did some background research on the company and felt comfortable enough with the results to give them a shot.I liked the innovation, especially considering that I suffer from the constant gadget charging woes we all do while home. The charging cable spaghetti struggle is real in my house! However, I also felt like making some changes to my environment to breathe some new and fresh energy into my space with a more modern minimalistic approach for the New Year. I ended up ordering 6 lamps (various models) in total from Brightech - 2 desk lamps for my office, 2 for my bedroom, and these 2 for my living room.Initially, I was excited in anticipation of receiving these to switch up the vibe of my living room. I'm big on home automation as well and these fit nicely into my lightening plans for better ambiance.Overall here are the pros:1. Reasonably priceda. I’ve seen many people complain about the high price point vs the quality of this lamp. I believe the price relatively on par with what it should be. It’s a $50 lamp, but given the added USB/AC functionality, I would say about $60-$65 would be the sweet spot, so not too far off.2. Delivered on-time as expected.3. Very well packaged to protect against damage.4. Relatively easy assembling, but per some of the other reviews, there are people that may not like the fact that there are so many pieces and experience some difficulty.5. Assembly instructions are easy to follow for the average person – BE ADVISED – your #1 priority should be to take inventory of the parts to ensure all the parts are included BEFORE you begin assembly.6. Relatively sturdy for a lamp at this price point. Just don’t try to use it as a stepping stool and it’ll be fine.7. USB/AC ports – excellent for digital picture frames or charging devices8. Cable management to help conceal wiring – making for a very clean look.Overall here are the cons:1. Quality control issuesa. I will be fair and say this may have just been a fluke, but it’s still a pretty huge problem for me personally because it speaks to the vendor’s consistency and dependability. I ordered two of these. Fully assembled one with no issue, but the second one was missing several bolts. I’m just glad that I wasn’t giving this to someone as a gift. Extremely disappointing and aggravating.2. A suggestion and not necessarily a con – increasing the weight of the lamp would go a long way in addressing the concerns of those that claim there is a cheap or flimsy feel to it. Perhaps using the same thickness of the wood base for the shelving and/or increasing the density of the legs.3. Limit number (4) of cable management clips. The ideal number of clips is definitely 6 – two per shelving section - in order to properly secure and conceal the power cable.All-in-all I was very satisfied and happy with my purchasing experience right up until I began assembly of the second lamp. The situation with the missing parts totally ruined the entire experience along with my mood. Added to that was the fact that the vendor was unreachable due to being closed during what I can only assume is their holiday schedule. Again, just glad I didn’t give this as a gift to someone. This could’ve easily been a 5-star review like the other 2 sets of lamps I purchased from them.Update: The seller contacted me in response to my initial message about the missing parts. Very friendly and pleasant customer service experience. They went above and beyond to make things right and ensure I was satisfied. Thanks!

Excellent as a night stand
I was looking around for a new pair of nightstands as I am updating some of the fury other around my house when I found these guys. I was a bit skeptical at first because of the charging options.. “what if the ports aren’t strong enough to put out a good enough charge?” But ultimately I decided to give them a try because they were inexpensive and seemed easy to assemble so if they didn’t work out, I didn’t lose much.My initial skepticism of the charging capacity was dumbfounded, as they definitely put out enough juice to charge up an iPad Pro (using the A/C outlet and a 30W charger) as well as a wireless charger “quick charge” for a phone using only the USB port to connect to the charger. So I’m very happy with that. The stands themselves are beautiful to look at, appearing solid and good quality. I love the aesthetics, and the included bulb in each one are a nice soft light made softer by the lampshades. All it all, I love this purchase. Some notes to consider that does not affect my overall rating: they aren’t SUPER stable. While they are STURDY (see definition) and stay together, as you can see I have one between my bed and two walls, and the other between the bed and one wall as I feel they would tip fairly easily. This was my plan from the start of course, but if you were looking for something to put in the middle of a room, I believe you would definitely want at least some furniture on two sides of it, especially if you have young kids. I will state: from the pictures and description of the stand I did NOT expect these to be the most stable of furniture pieces, so this is not a complaint from me because I am a rational human being. Just some thoughts on how to use these pieces if you haven’t thought about that aspect. The assembly instructions were mildly difficult to follow, as they were almost purely diagrammatic, but I got there after a few minutes. There was no written instruction on how to secure the shade to the base, and the diagram’s instruction for this step was easily to miss. (Bracket goes on the bottom of the shade with the bulb socket through it then secured by a screw on.. thing..). So the instructions were, in fact, there. They were just not as obvious as I thought and I had to scratch my head for a second to figure it out. So all-in-all, the first stand took me 30 minutes to assemble, and the second one took me 10-15 (did not even have to look at the instructions to do the second one) since I had already figured out what I was doing. So, super easy to assemble, just one tricky steps. Finally, the material the stands are made of is not solid wood, but that, in my opinion, does not take away from the appearance nor functionality of the stands, especially for the price. I certainly wouldn’t be expecting solid wood at that price. All in all, super pleased with this, and it was a good but.Side note for reference: my bed comes up about 25 inches from the floor, so the top charging shelf is perfectly placed about 6 or 7 inches above to where it is easy to access while lying down. Both stands have one AC plug and one USB port. 120VAC Max 8A for the plug and 5VDC Max 2A for the USB port per the wording near the ports themselves.

Would like brighter lighting options
This item is just as I expected it to be. It described it as a soft light, and it is. I would prefer a brighter light for reading in bed. (I plan to check for a brighter bulb and see if that helps. I would like to make a suggestion to offer larger options, as well. This is a great size for next to a bed, but for a living room it would be nice to have a little more shelf space to put knickknacks on them. Good value for the money.

Nice lamp
Arrived beautifully packaged (by the manufacturer) - thank you Amazon for no additional packaging. It is easy to assemble and the lamp itself is nice. It would be great if it were dimmable as I wanted this for a child’s room however I’ll play around with bulbs and an add-on dimmer. Overall it is good value for the price.

Nice lamp, not worth the price
I do enjoy this lamp and all the features work. However the cord to turn the lamp on is difficult to pull, I have to pull it at a certain angle for the lamp to turn on despite reassembling that part multiple times to try and fix the issue. It is a good product I just think it is overpriced for what it is.

I love the look of it.
The body of it is quite sturdy, though it was missing the "cushion" that it was suppose to sit on. The shade doesn't sit well, I have fussed a bit with it but I don't think it can get better. Overall quite pleased.

Expensive, easy to assemble, USB ports died after 1 year
I have this lamp for a year now. It is a sturdy and easy to build lamp. For the duration of my ownership of this lamp, I absolutely loved it...until the USB port stopped working.
