Not what I expected

I have problem skin, oily and prone to blemishes. In fact, I’m having a pretty bad breakout at the moment so I really did put this foundation to the test. My absolute favourite foundation and the one I wear pretty much every day is EL Double Wear in shade 1C0. I am very fair and often have to use the lightest shade in any foundation range so I tested the Porcelain #01 shade of QIC foundation.The bottle is a fairly standard plastic and suspiciously similar to another brand I’ve used in the past. The consistency is VERY thick, as in more like a cream than a liquid foundation. I followed my usual makeup routine to give it as fair of a test as I could so after applying primer and some concealer I used a clean foundation brush to apply. It applied fairly well but a little really does go a long way. A lot of people complain that they feel Double Wear is too thick (although I wouldn’t agree) so those people should absolutely stay away from this brand. The foundation does feel quite heavy on the skin but after applying the rest of my make up I was quite happy with how it looked.Today was a hot day in the UK so this product was really thrown in at the deep end so to speak. I did notice this foundation did make my skin appear shinier than my usual foundation would and by the end of the day it had separated in some spots and my T zone particularly had suffered some cakeyness.One of the most disappointing things about this product is the absolute terrible shade selection. For me personally, I could have gone even lighter than the Porcelain which is the lightest shade. I could just about get away with it by really blending it down my neck. The foundation does oxidise slightly which means it will darken a bit as it dries down and wears. Unfortunately, the absolute darkest shade available is Sand which is obviously another shade for white people. It’s very disappointing that the brand doesn’t cater to a broader range of skin tones.I appreciate that I’m comparing this £9.99 foundation with a more upmarket brand priced more than 3 times as much but as my favoured foundation ticks all the boxes for me so it makes sense that I’d want this foundation to compete for me to consider purchasing it in the future.For under a tenner, it’s not absolutely terrible. If you’re lucky enough to match one of their small selection of shades then it’s not the worst budget foundation I’ve ever used. It looks okay straight after application and it may last better in colder weather. Personally, it doesn’t come close to persuading me away from my trusted Double Wear unfortunately.

This arrived quick and well packed. Good shade...good coverage...and nice texture...I enjoy using it...it doesn't smell weird or anything it actually has a really nice floral fragrance. I am really pleased with it. It doesn't last a very very long while if it's not applied with a good primer...just so you know...It's covers every single pore...when it's freshly applied...then it absorbs into the skin a little...so i would advise you to just try and find a good primer that will work well with it...apply them both on the face and just wait for 10-15 min and see what it does to the skin...how much it absorbs ...if it gets patchy or not....just to make sure you will know how to work with it when you will certainly need it.I personally believe this is a good fit for people with a very str8 and tight skin...because it looks flawless....but when i applied it to a not so smooth and tight skin...it kinda' shows off weirdly...like...you can see how it gets into all the little fine lines and they pop out....like it's white flower...and i'm talking just about the foundation without any powder on it or anything.Overall...i personally am pleased with it....as i said...for a smooth, tight, young face....it's good. Nice coverage...good quality. I am recommending it...if you've already read my review and still considering purchasing it.
