Great safety device
It’s getting harder for me to see behind my car. The solar has been great so you don’t have to hard wire it. The rear viewer fits over the rear view mirror and the wide angle view is about 160 degrees-fantastic view. I was able to hide the power wire that goes from the mirror to the cigarette power almost completely. This is a winner. I’ve well-avoided people speeding behind me in several parking lots as I back out of my space. Also, they give you a warranty extended to two years when you register….

Nice idea, but needs the cigarette lighter to charge which is currently occupied.
This review is for: TYPE S | Portable Car License Plate Backup Camera Bluetooth Mirror with Solar Powered, Rearview Mirror, Split-Screen, Wireless Button Control, Extra Wide 160°, View in 720P for Truck, Car, SUV, CamperI got this to use in my old Ford work van. It is a standard, older work van with zero bells and whistles. As with most work trucks, there is zero visibility other than the side mirrors due to the lack of window in the van.I thought that this was solely solar powered. I think the listing should do a better job explaining that you will need to use the cigarette lighter to power the unit. We have to use the cigarette lighter for the GPS in the truck, so we don't currently have a way to power this unit.Perhaps they make some kind of cigarette lighter splitter, but until then, we are unable to use this unit.I wish the listing talked about this and showed it in the pictures, but it doesn't.Hope this is helpful.

Works great, easy installation
With car prices what they are these days we couldn’t justify the price of a newer used car for my daughter when the one she has is very reliable. However, my daughter really wanted a backup camera. It’s a small car so a screen mounted on the dashboard would be in the way. This was a perfect solution. I was worried that installation would be difficult but actually it was not bad at all. The camera part goes on with two screws and the mirror has rubber straps. The hardest part was the power cable for the mirror but tucking it into the headliner and column was pretty easy and I attached a couple of small command clips under the dash to hold the cable there.

Could have been perfect, but final is worse than most
The concept was perfect. Rear view mirror overlay so you don't have an extra screen laying around your dash needing a suction cup holder or something else. The rear view mirror easy to install with the two straps. As long as you install it tight, there is minimal vibration. Now the two bad parts. One and foremost, it's a backup camera, you have to be able to see the image. In daylight the image is completely washed out by the bright rear window and image is gone. Adjusting the brightness and contrast does nothing. You have to lower your head and get angle where rear window is gone and you see the roof liner to get proper contrast, but then your not in a comfortable position backing up. Second problem is the unit takes up a cigarette lighter outlet and is bulky. It's not very well designed. The camera although solar powered will over time need to be charged by wire and the interface is a micro-usb and not even a USB-c. I gave it a 3 but feel that is at high range.
