My top door hinge broke during assembly so i don't think the welding is the best. It started chipping and rust almost immediately
The wire will bend. My top door hinge broke during assembly so i don't think the welding is the best. It started chipping and rust almost immediately. I am going to get it powder coated. It is a good cage base but for a Blue & Gold Macaw i would recommend getting it powder coated especially if using it outside. I bought it because of the price and getting it powder coated in my area is still cheaper than the similar options retailing for $1500-$2000

Good size, sturdy enough
We use this to put our lovebird and parakeet cages in to keep the birds safe from our cats. The birds don't fly free in the cage, our actual birdcages are in this aviary. We've hung plants and it's really pretty and it's like a cat-free bird sanctuary now. Previously our cats would always jump on the bird cages and harass the birds and we were always afraid something would happen when we weren't watching. Now we have peace of mind. And our cats love to hang out on the top of the aviary, and we no longer have to squirt bottle them! It's not as easy to put together as they say it is. No written instructions, only pictures, that are somewhat confusing, and we had to refer to the pictures on the website quite a few times for clarity. My adult son and I were able to assemble it, and it took about 2-3 hours and several frustrated, heated exchanges! But still so worth it. A couple of parts came bent, but not unusable, and the paint is flaked off in some small areas also, fyi. I still think this is a good value for the money and quality and I would purchase it again.

Mid level quality
Bars are thin (compared to a Cal-Cage which my parrots were in previously) welds are sloppy. It's clear that this is mass-produced with low-quality control, however, it is sturdy and big for the price. I still think it's a good value, but wish they'd used thicker bars and had more accuracy in welds, squaring things up, etc. an example, the door latches have pre-made holes to attach the latches on the same panel (door and frame) but don't line up perfectly on the bottom half of the door, so I had to bend one of the welds with a pry-bar slightly o get it to line up better.Time will tell if my African grey parrots can bend he bars

I really like the cage and my 2 blue and gold macaws ...
I really like the cage and my 2 blue and gold macaws like it too. But .......the assembly took the guy I hired 8 hours at $20 an hour. Alone to put the screws and nuts and bolts together took an hour and for the top panels he had someone come and help him. So this cage is nice, but altogether very expensive and the alleged assembly time on the manual not correct.

Very sturdy
This cage is sturdy and big enough that my hahns macaw and green cheek conure could be in it together and still have room to get away from each other. It did start rusting in several spots pretty soon after being put up but the company did refund me some of the cost once I contacted them about it.

Good but food bowls not secure
This is a nice large cage however, the food and water bowls are not secured in well and makes them easy for the parrot to flip and spill food. You can clamp them down but the parrot eats and breaks all the clamps we have used.

No I would not recommend it because I have conures and the bar spacing ...
No I would not recommend it because I have conures and the bar spacing is too wide. The company refused to allow me to send it back and switch for a smaller bar spacing aviary.
