Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (Dover Thrift Editions: Classic Novels)

There are a lot of Alice in Wonderland Kindle editions. I personally feel I have made the right choice by getting this one. It has got original nice illustrations by John Tenniel which is aesthetically significant. The price is great. This Kindle edition has got good line spacings and is excellent to read on my Kindle keyboard. Don't spend your money on other kindle editions of Alice as they have either queer or no illustrations. The only disadvantage is being difficult to navigate through chapters. It doesn't worry me though. The other good news is you will get the entire series in one download. A nice read in a rainy afternoon.

We all know the plot. This is a review of the Dover Thrift Editions copy.Since this wonderful text and Sir John Tenniel's original illustrations is in the public domain, the book will remain easy to get, cheap. This particular edition does NOT also contain Through the Looking Glass, which often is published right in the same volume as this one. Dover edition has cruddy pulp pages, but it's unabridged and no one should complain if they can get a readable copy for 1 cent.

I took a gamble on buying this edition when no one had reviewed it yet. I tried several other Kindle editions available and had found them truly appalling in terms of formatting. This however, is significantly better, featuring well structured chapter breaks and all the original illustrations, which enhance the story a lot.Furthermore, considering it contains both books, plus the excellent Hunting of the Snark, it is a fantastic price.However, there are still some glaring mistakes, such as some formatting bugs in a few of the poems and spelling errors in places (such as at the start of Looking Glass, where some of the Ls are replaced with 1s - I guess a scanner did the 'writing here').5 stars for the great price and superior formatting over the other options. -1 star for the glaring lack of proof reading from the publisher.

This is the perfect E-book for those of us who are looking for 'Original Versions' of our favorite fairy tales. Most important if you like illustrated fairy tales, because, remember, Lewiss Carroll was one of the first writers who thought about add some pictures in tales and books.Este es el E-Book perfecto para quienes están interesados en las 'Versiones Originales' de sus cuentos clásicos, infantiles o de hadas favoritos. Más aún si prefieren los cuentos ilustrados. Sobre todo teniendo en cuenta que Lewis Carroll fue uno de los primeros escritores en pensar en literatura infantil como tal y en añadir ilustraciones en los cuentos y libros.

It's great to have the original complete collection. You have so many versions of the story that coming to the source is illuminating. About the illustration, you can understand a little more of the sense of absurd that Lewis Carroll wanted to show, not the sweetened versions that came after. It’s a book that you could return to a thousand times and find something that catches you again. Mapplewood work of collecting all the media versions is great for fans that want to track everything that is available. Absolutely wonderful to have it.

Classic but hard to read

As ever, Lewis Carroll entertains both children and adults.Having read the book as a child I enjoyed it but did not actually understand the meaning of the subtler bits. Now as an adult the meanings become clear so you get quite a different perspective altogether. Also having viewed different documentaries on TV, various films and other media you get a deeper look into the authors intention.Well worth rereading at any time.

I've loved the stories if Alice since I was a child. This book contains her Adventures in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass, and the Hunting of the Snark. This complete collection of her original adventures is a delight to revisit as an adult, and a wonderful read for kids as well. The price simply cannot be beaten!
