This is a great collar but finding the correct size is the key! Following the advertised sizing chart, it suggested to get the Medium instead of the correct Small size for my 40 lb. Beagle and Australian Cattle dog mix with a size 14.5 neck. The medium was too big for both the length and 1 inch width, needing to tighten to the second to last eyelet hole, thus leaving a lot of excess dangling collar material. The Small was just perfect loosening to the second to the last eyelet near the collar tip, thus no excess material allowing it to tuck nicely into the built in elastic collar strap.The material is great, not cheap looking- with a nice neoprene cushion, and reflective safety threads at the edges. So in my experience the collar is sized bigger than advertised (a common issue in most sellers websites) so err towards smaller rather than larger if the neck size falls in between on the chart. It would be best if the seller list the actual total length of the collar and where in that measurement the first and last eyelet hole is located. That way there is less chance to get the wrong collar and the need to return and get the correct size.

The padding on the collar always goes toward the back of my dog's head, so I'm not certain it's purpose. It feels like it is good quality and will be durable. My girl is between sizes so we keep it a bit loose unless she's going out on a walk.

I have a very large purebred black Labrador that turned a year in May. He is very hyper and loves to catch the tennis ball 🎾 while out in the backyard. The collar we bought for him was a very thin and honestly, a cheap one from Tractor Supply. On the smallest setting he would always slip out of it while playing in the yard.I looked at many online, but none seemed durable or comfortable enough. I found this one and I am so happy I purchased it. I got the purple one and it looks great against his shiny black coat.I love how they put the soft fabric in it and the reflective stitching and the holes that are "belt" style. It fits perfectly and it doesn't come off while he's playing around. When he lays down it still seems comfortable for him. Not to mention the handle on the back of the collar.I am very pleased with this product and the quality and design that they put into it.Thanks so very much for an all around great collar.

This collar is strong and is padded, but it is bulkier and stiffer than I anticipated. My dog isn’t comfortable with it yet, but I suppose she will get used to it.

Save yourself the petco trip!! Get this collar. It will work better than any collar and is way more affordable then those overpriced petco products. If you have a pitbull, German shepherd, cattle dog, or any big, strong, naughty dog who likes to pull out of their collars, THIS IS THE ONE!! I love the fact that its got holes in it, almost like a belt. I hate the clip collars that you have to adjust manually, Ugh!! Such a pain cus those move on their own and they expand. That won’t do cus my dog likes to pull out of her collar and run away. But this Tuff Pupper collar is amazing. It’s also padded so it doesn’t hurt or choke them too much if they tug. My dog can’t slip out of this one. And this purple color looks beautiful on her! I need to buy more in different colors. Thank you so much for this amazing purchase.
