Great pump!
I am using this pump in a water fountain on my back patio. It works great and is providing a great water feature that is both pleasant and practical. The fountain creates a soothing sound thanks to the adjustability of the flow rate. It also invites the area birds, especially the hummingbirds, to come and bathe in it. Something I didn’t expect with the rapid water flow rate I selected. The pump itself is quite, so all you hear is the water falling. This is what attracts the birds. To see them come and enjoy their stay is both exciting and satisfying. I also really appreciate the ‘dry burning protection’ design because it’s a protection for those unexpected and unavoidable situations that could destroy the pump. I am really pleased with the pump and recommend it for similar applications.

Excellent for my outdoor fountain
I bought a medium-size waterfall fountain last year at a home improvement store. It was great for the season and I drained the water and left everything in place during the winter. I did not remove the motor. So this year when I went to use the fountain again, I found that sending power resulted in absolutely nothing happening. I checked all of the connections and assumed that somehow hi burnt out the motor. This product arrived quickly and installed very easily. I did end up ordering the wrong size to match up to my existing hose so make sure that you measure this before you order. With that said, I was able to easily pinch the hose down with a hose clamp and I have not had any issues yet. The pump works wonderfully and gives the same performance as the original that it is replacing. Currently, I’m still in the same season and I’ve only used it for a handful of days. I will try to update this next year to see how it goes during the winter. Also, I will try to actually remove the pump and place it inside somewhere for the winter. But honestly, I will most likely forget so I’ll update it either way.

Great pump for a cheap price
We have a big fountain with a pineapple. Our last pump did not shoot the water up high enough to hear it hit the water. This pump has plenty of power and shoots the water up high so we get the sound we want. Very happy with purchase! The photo shows you the size of our fountain.

Won’t shut off completely
Put this pump in a 100 gallon stock tank to fed a drip irrigation system. It has about 3ft of lift to get out of tank then about 30 ft of1/2 inch line followed by roughly 18 1/4x 16 inch lines. The pump handles this like a champ. Nice quiet operation as well but my problem is that when the pump powers down there is still water coming out of the lines.I adjusted the position of the pump in the tank and the dripping stopped or so I thought. Today’s when the pump cycled on then off ,it didn’t shut off completely again and drained about 3/4 of the tank while I was at work, totally saturating the ground. This is a great little pump but the shut off valve or lack there of totally kills it. Now I am back to the drawing board to find a new pump that works and shuts off properly.edit. Fixed the issue but pump died in less than one year. Bummer. Won’t buy again

Great price for a fountain water pump & it can't burn out running dry!
The media could not be loaded. I am replacing a pump which burned out the motor while we were away on vacation. The fountain ran dry and the pump was ruined. The old pump was rated for 250 gallons per hour and ran for years non stop. The new pump is rated for 300 gpm and cannot burn out the motor. I an not sure yet how to prevent debris, which falls into the water, from clogging the intake however. The old one had a plastic strainer and this on does not. It has instructions for open the impeller to clean it which the old one did not. But the meat of the matter is the price. This pump was relatively cheap in comparison to other pumps of it's size despite having high reviews and great features. The cord on the old pump was 16 feet and this one is like 6. I cut and spliced the old cord to the new pump's cord rather than fight with puling the cord through the base of the fountain (not easy on this fountain.) This allows me extra slack in the ocord to move the pump for cleaning or a mesh bag. This was the only real work to do replacing the old pump. If you are using this in a fountain there will likely be a rubber "cork" or access hole plug the cord runs through. You will need (this is not an option lol) plumber's putty to seal the hole up or the water will drain out. All things put together the pump works great and the price is really right. Plus, the pump cannot burn out running dry again. Yippee! Happy birds, happy home here.

Simple setup...strong pump.
Only one thing needed....a 5" or 6" tube attached to the pump to be above the top of the water in my pond but thats purely personal design. Other than that it works great!
