Porcelain Steel Heat Plate for Backyard Grill BY12-084-029-98, Backyard GBC1255W, Uniflame GBC1059WB, Dyna Glo DGF493BNP DGF510SBP, 15 inch Heat Shield Tent Flame Tamer Burner Cover

These "flavor bars" were a perfect fit to replace the ones that rusted out on my two year old Walmart / Uniflame grill. (BY13-101-001-13 / GBC1355WC). The price was good and the quality seems fine, but I have my doubts about how stainless the "stainless steel" is in these. In my experience, a magnet will not stick to a piece of "good" stainless steel. These flavor bars do NOT pass the magnet test. i.e. a magnet DOES stick to them.However, I also know that some stainless steel IS ferro-magnetic. I will change my review to five stars if I have no rust in six months. Time will tell.PS: If you are replacing the flavor bars then the grease tray is probably rusted out as well. The grease tray part number to search for for the above grill is CLA-DS0248 which replaces original part number 55-11-017. At the time of this review, Amazon does not sell the grease tray.

The media could not be loaded.  I recently purchased an Old Backyard Grill for $10 at a yard sale.It was in pretty bad shape with the heat plates (heat tents) rusted soo bad they were disintegrating with just the slightest touch.I thought, no problem, walmart carries all sorts of replacement parts. I'll have this thing up and grilling steaks in no time....Well Walmart did have some generic stainless steel heat plates sold in 2 packs for $9 each. I bought a pair, to replace the 2 heat tents that had completely failed. I also needed a replacement regulator, which they were out of stock on.So when I got home I went to Amazon and found a replacement regulator for less than the Walmart Price, Same brand though, and figured, what the heck, I'll see if they have my heat tents too.. Low and behold they had a 5 pack of drop-in replacements, exactly the same as my old ones except stainless steel for less than 5 generics at walmart.Ordered those and the regulator and 2 days later, I had a perfectly working grill with parts that took less than 5 min to install.The generic ones would have taken modification, were more expensive and are now going back to walmart.In terms of Heat Plates, you have 2 options:1- Stainless Steel2- Porcelain Covered Iron.I chose the stainless steel because, not only do they not rust, they can handle the heat, and the porcelain eventually cracks off the iron ones which starts the rusting process.Watch this video in Full HD over on my YouTube channel: GadgetClass

Got these to replace the old flare covers on my 5 burner Backyard Grill brand grill. The last 5 years I have heavily used and neglected my grill. At the start of this grilling season I noticed that one of my flare covers had rusted through, and I had thought I'd be needing to find a new grill as I had looked for these before.I want to say they seem better quality than the originals, but all my flare covers are too far gone to give a fair comparison. They are an exact match to the original flare covers.If you are someone like me who doesn't maintain your grill regularly, these will live up to the same standard of not better then the originals.Be sure to double check your grill compatibility to avoid getting the wrong covers.I hope that I have learned my lesson and that I will keep up on my grill maintenance now, but of not, I would buy these again.

They fit my grill perfectly and were much needed due to my old ones rusting out. I installed these in the Spring. By the end of the Summer or sometime in Fall, they already were partially starting to rust. I keep the grill covered, so water doesn’t damage it. I was hoping to not purchase these every year, but the quick rust may force me to

The media could not be loaded.  Work great they fit right over the bracket into the slot on the end. Originals were 15 1/2, these were 15 but fits fine. No issues, my grill is a 4 burner expert grill, hope this helps someone.

I bought a “gourmet grill” brand bbq gas grill second hand and needed the “ flame tamers”. The original replacements were very expensive and I did not want to spend that much on a used grill. I ordered these as a substitute and they work great at a fraction of what the others would have cost.

These are stainless steel, and heavy! The ones for twice the price are steel, which will rust out as soon as finish comes off! Not the stainless! I plan on having these for the life of the Grill! A Steal at this price!

The size was a bit bigger than we needed but we cut it so it’s not a problem it was actually our fault for not measuring before buying. Other than that the product is great!
