The "WR50M" on the face means it's water resistant up to 50m. So yes you can shower and even swimming should be fine as long as you're not going diving.

Q: How long does the battery last?

I've been wearing my current Marathon watch for about 2 years now and still going strong on the original battery. I don't use the Indiglo night-light that much though. If illuminated frequently, you'll likely get a shorter life from your battery.

Q: What size watch band does it take?

Don’t know for sure. I was looking to replace it my self, but it was not available on amazon,they don’t have it either.
