WallSkiN Case for Galaxy Note 8 (6.3") Heavy Duty Full Body Military Grade Drop Protection Carrying Cover Holder | Holster for Men Belt with Clip Stand – Black/Black

Anyone looking at this case for their Samsung Note 8 and wondering if this is the same or close to an Otterbox case. I can tell you first hand that it is the same. My wife purchased a purple otterbox and I purchased the black/orange WallSkiN. I'm not here to knock Otterbox, but if you want to save money then this is for you.

FIRST OFF... To the people saying it doesn't fit, take the rubber shell off. Inside is a hard plastic case that comes apart by pulling the clips that are marked with arrows. Put your phone in that and then install the rubber shell.Now that being said, there should really be instructions for that as I could see how most people wouldn't know to do that. I only knew because I had a similar case for a different phone (that came with instructions)Now, early review.. Feels great and I feel like I can trust it for an accidental drop. There really isn't a better deal on another case of this quality. You could have easily put a certain brand name on the back and I would have believed it was authentic.The kickstand is garbage, wouldn't even consider it a kickstand, but this is a high quality protective case. If your buying a case only for a good kickstand, this just isn't for you.I'm a plumber and I have broken 5 phones in the last year, so this case will really be put to the test. If I don't have any problems with it, I won't update this review.(Update) year and a half later still using this case. Bottom portion of plastic broke off outer section of shell the other day when removing to clean. I'd say I got my money's worth. Dropped my phone with this case more times than I could count, from heights I wouldnt expect my phone to survive even with a case. My phone is in perfect condition. I stand by my 5 star review. I have bought many low cost cases and belt clips that made big claims but were always junk. So I usually stick with Otter Box when buying a phone. My belt clip for my Note 8 Otter box broke so I was looking a replacement belt clip but could find none. I noticed this case and belt clip so reluctantly decided to give it a try. The case fit perfect and the case snaps snuggly into the belt clip. I really could tell no difference from the Otter box other than the name. It has exactly the same look and feel. I will update this review if I find any issues.

When I opened the packaging, I was surprised because I forgot that they have included a case cover and clip. It took a little doing to gently pry apart the upper frame from the lower frame but it was just like the chief competitor, OB. The inside of the hard shell is covered with a very fine layer of slightly spongy foam that cushions the back of the phone. The rubber surround snaps neatly into place when the frame is snapped together around the phone body.I am truly impressed because this has the look and feel of their competition. It took me a little while to figure out how to turn the clip so that it becomes a stand. By my experience I could see that there was a little notch that had to engage with the top of the clip. It took some doing but very gently was able to snap into place and it behaves like a stand for watching television or YouTube.I've noticed that some of the views have said that the belt clip doesn't swivel. That is untrue. It takes gentle urging to get it to swivel and it swivels in several different directions firmly clicking at each position. For anyone who's looking at it the top of the clip has a tiny notch that has to be snapped to the upper edge of the clip. When in place with the clip held by the little tab kickstand feature works fine. To go from kickstand, gently release the upper tab while holding the clip open and it goes back to a belt clip. I've included pictures that show the belt clip at an angle so that I could stand up the individual pieces of this case.I would recommend this to anyone and unfortunately it is snapped around my phone so I am not going to send a picture. This has been an altogether good experience; ordered it on Sunday and it came this morning, Tuesday.If anything changes over time with use and wear I'll edit my commentary.

I was originally gonna get the Defender Series for my note8 but $60 wasn't too pleasing. I then came across this case and for literally a fraction of the price this case gives me the same exact protection along with a belt clip. I also have this case paired with my Zagg Invisible shield HD+ screen protector. I have no worries about dropping my phone now. Great case!!! P.S. I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because the charging port cover is kinda hard to open and put back in place but its super minor.

I loved mine (Raspberry/Lava) fit perfectly on my note 8..I think my husband will also like his.(HE DID) ..and the (tree bough/orange) one is nice love it also but where the tree bough image is i think in a future of constant use the pic will start to erase but still nice and tough will update on the case if it ever erases or whatever (BEEN USING IN CONSTRUCTION SIGHTS CEMENT EXPOSURE AND ITS STILL IN TACT and the midnight (navy/blue) also really nice i would of loved it too if it was for me also thinking about getting another case to switch when I get bored of mine now I need to buy a screen protector to see if it fits well with case I will update when I buy screen protector...... (SCREEN PROTECTOR FIT PERFECTLY) ZAGG. REALLY TOUGH CASE I HAVE DROPPED MY CELL A COUPLE OF TIMES AND NOTHING HAS HAPPENED TO MY PHONE OR CASE IM IN LOVE HEHE

Welll what can i say this case has already been out to the testI work in a billboard comoany brough my phone up on a sign . And it fell from about 20 feet up down to the ground hit gravel bounced . Finished our sign and when i got down i was expecting my phone to be broke. Guess what?? Not even a scratch on it. This case is awesome definstely recommend italso the case doesnt have. Ascratch on it either
