Good Housekeeping Kids Cook!: 100+ Super-Easy, Delicious Recipes - A Kids Cookbook (Good Housekeeping Kids Cookbooks, 1)

Clear, well-organized, empowering for kids 8 or 9 +
My daughter was going through a phase where she'd pull out all our ingredients and try to "invent" meals from scratch without a recipe, but then got really frustrated when the results were (mostly) inedible. I got a few kids cookbooks from the library and casually "left" them lying around for her to find - and this one was the one that really got her interested in learning how to cook. Unlike some of the others we tried, "Kids Cook!" is clear and not at all overwhelming, with appealing photos and tips for customizing recipes (Kids Bake! is also fantastic this way), and it allows her to take the reigns without needing a lot of parental help. The other night she made a grocery list of things to pick up, and made us all dinner! The recipes are all so good that I've borrowed it myself on occasion. Can't recommend this book enough.

Totally kid friendly
My 11 year old loves this book. She’s got some great ideas out of this and sometimes even just applies it to another recipe or modifies this one to work with our ingredients. Easy to follow and good pictures to make kids pick this up.

well written for kids
I will be purchasing a hard cover version for my school library. It’s easy to read and to understand. There were a few recipes that I wanted to make for myself.

Great cooking options.
I bought this for my grandchild as something to do with her parents and they enjoy the recipe selection, food shopping, and cooking together. A great way to interact without electronics.

Almost kept for myself
My nephew LOVES to help cook. He excels at seriously every sport and he just got into roller blading, but I’ve never been athletic so one thing we do a lot when I’m watching him is cook or bake. He enjoys watching cooking shows with me and I love to cook, so it makes me so happy to see him so eager to learn. He recently turned 9 and thought it would be such a great idea to get him a cook book and supplies. I almost got a different book, but I stumbled upon this one and I looked at a few recipes first and I was like “ok I really want to make this??????” sooooooo I had to get it. He ripped open the wrapping paper and pulled out the book and I wasn’t actually expecting him to be THAT excited over a book 😂 We caught him reading the recipes in the book during dinner, he only took one bite because he was reading the whole time and pointing to the dishes and saying “OKAY WE GOTTA MAKE THAT FIRST THING TOMORROW MORNING.” Score!!!!!!! Good auntie flex 💪🏼

My 11 year old granddaughter loved it!
I purchased this book for my granddaughter’s 11th birthday. I live in the U.S. and my daughter and her family are in Australia so I have not actually seen the book in person. According to my daughter It was the perfect gift and helped keep my granddaughter occupied during the Covid lockdown. My daughter also appreciated the gift as it gave her and my granddaughter bonding time and has helped my granddaughter explore new foods. My daughter indicated that the book was not too simplistic but felt it would also be appropriate for a younger child.
