Elephants will be wanting these back.
Had to get these as my last bit of equipment in readiness for total hip replacement. Bed needed to be raised from 19" to about 23" so looked on the net for bed risers. Hundreds of them with lots of different designs but very few accurate measurements and descriptions mostly for spindly-legged chairs and beds with castors. After much deliberation plumped for these although again, very difficult to tell what they were going to look like or what size they are from the description. They're fine. They are light grey plastic, weight 200 grms each, measure 9.5 cm across the bit where the leg goes in, 30.5 cm diameter round the top, 10.5cm high and the diameter of the bottom of the foot is 50 cm. The bed leg would sit just inside the top on a piece of foam rubber, reinforced under that with a cross bar of plastic which makes them strong enough to hold a good weight. They will fit 'bun feet' wood bed legs thank goodness as that's what I was looking for. Not sure about thinner, castor type legs as the rubber forms a sort of cushion just inside the top of the well. Not pretty and if your house is furnished entirely normally they'll stand out like a sore, grey foot. They do the job very well and, as they were bought sight unseen as it were, I was really pleased.

Safe to use for sofa with castors
I was concerned that many of the raisers did not look as if they were safe for a sofa with castors. This product has an indent in the top lined with a disc of firm foam. When I put the castor in the raiser, the foam made a round indent just the right size and shape for the castor and it was deep enough too. I used this product on a heavy sofa with 4 feet on castors. It is very sturdy and safe. I did not have any trouble placing the raisers under the sofa despite being a quite frail elderly person. The sofa is now the right height so I can get up easily after sitting on it. before I had these raisers I could not sit on the sofa because it was too low.

Great item dont be put off by the colour!
Had to laugh when I saw these, so that's why there called elephant feet I thought! even with no-one to help I manaed to pop them under my sofa and what a difference it made, fantastic. But they stood out so much, that I knew I was going have to somehow cover them up. I put a throw on my sofa but even though I let it hang right down you could still see "the feet". Then I had an idea, I went in my draw and got some tights, cut them at the knee and pulled them over the feet tucking them in at the top were the sofa was going rest. My sofa is pink but the black looks so much better then grey and im going to buy some red or pink tights next week. Someone may have thought of doing this already but im so pleased there now covered. It did cross my mind to paint them before I thought of the tights idea. You could use pop socks If you had some .It doesn't make the feet any less effective and they are still stable. But would not do this on a polished floor or lino. I love my sofa now.

Genius storage soloution
Amazing, wish I'd found these years ago, my bed is a great height now and I can store away lots of my belongings, I only rent a room so I have limited space, now I can keep my room tidy and clutter free. Also I thought they looked a bit boring so i jazzed them up a bit, sticking to a fitting design idea and now I totally love them. 😄

Very Good, missing a rubber insert, poor service from Manufacturer
Following the advice of the Ambulance Service, I purchased this set of Elephant Feet for my mum. They helped greatly with her getting out of her chair. However, there were only 3 rubber inserts in the pack. As you cannot contact NRS through Amazon, I contacted the Manufacturer "Gordon Ellis"; who don't supply to Amazon - search for the company on Amazon and you will see their products, but they don't supply any of them.On contacting GE they tell me I can have a rubber insert for £1.37+Vat and £3.90 P&P. I'm going to make do with cardboard rounds cut from the Amazon box.NRS Healthcare details are on the www.Just to add, I contacted NRS Healthcare and they tell me "NRS do not sell our equipment through the Amazon site they buy equipment in bulk and then sell as an independant trader." I think that means Amazon buy the stock from NRS and sell it on....

Brilliant
I've waited over two and a half years to review this item, just to test their effectiveness and longevity. Like many customers it would seem I needed to raise the height of a superkingsize double bed after a total hip replacement. I cannot fault the item. Strong, stable and durable. Just ensure you check the size/diameter of the bed feet so that it fits into the top of the raiser.

very sturdy
These work very well. For medical reasons, I use them to raise the head only of the bed. My feet stay warm when I do this and sleep is less disturbed. Wonderful! These raisers are strong and stable. They have a dense foam insert for use with wooden legs, or you take out the foam and there is a recess for castors.I bought them to take on holiday but they are bulky, so you need a car. Also someone strong to fix them under the bed legs. If you do this, remember to bring them home with you - the next guest may not appreciate sleeping at an angle!!These arrived promptly and do the job very well. You can't stack them up like some other products, so the raising level is set at 5 1/2 inches, but that is adequate for me.It was great to be able to use them on a recent holiday; despite being bulky, they are very light in weight.

Fiddly To Fit
These fit my dad’s armachair well though they were quite fiddly to fit. You really need two people to put them under the chair legs but my 80-year-old dad couldn’t really help me. Therefore, I had to put them under one leg at a time but, as I got to the third leg, the first one had come off. It was a bit of a farce really. However when I finally managed to get the feet on, they are fine. My dad can get out of his armchair much more easily now. The only problem will come when he needs to move his chair but we’ll cross this bridge when we come to it.
