American Beauty: The Shooting Script

I can't decide whether the film or the script is better. They're both so good!

I wasn't expecting this screenplay to be so good. I've read screenplays before but nothing flowed like this one did for me. I started reading it, thinking I'd read a few scenes and ended up reading the whole thing at once. I loved the movie but I didn't think I would enjoy reading the script so much. You can really see what the producers saw in this script and how it NEEDED to be made. There is something special here that I'm glad we got to see so expertly executed.

This is a great example of a solid, really well written, tight script. Great for general purposes of entertainment but if you ARE TRYING TO WRITE YOUR OWN SCRIPT, use this as study material for how it's done.Read the script, then watch the movie.

This is a great book. Read along with the movie. I really don't have to watch the movie everytime I want to listen to a part. I can just look it up in the book, and its like I'm watching the movie. Amazing.

I loved reading the screenplay just as much as I enjoyed watching the film. I'm interested in screenwriting myself and bought the screenplay as a guide to my own screenwriting -- what to do and what not to do, and especially how to format shots of a person videotaping as is done throughout this piece. Excellent teaching tool!

And I hurried up to Amazon to see if they had the screenplay. This movie is, beyond a doubt, one of the greatest pieces of artwork ever created. Few films manage to make you fall completely in love with every single character. It is more profound than any movie I've ever seen. It moves from shallowest to deepest in a matter of seconds, then shifts back to surface, then dives deeper, deeper, much deeper still. And, if that isn't enough, it is incessantly immensely entertaining.This movie cuts through materialistic delusions, pretenses of authority, masks of arrogance, and illusions of separation like a lightsaber through butter. Das Script wurde in der Schule in Englisch Unterricht (GK/Gym) benötigt.Inhaltlich möchte ich nicht viel sagen, der Film hierzu ist eine prima ergänzung.Das Buch glänzt außen leicht und sieht cdaher recht edel aus.Die Seiten im Inneren sind dünn, wesshalt sich Textmaker und Filzstifte leicht durchdrücken.Trotzdem nettes Buch!Ach ja, Lieferung wie immer ein Träumchen!
