A good toy for young children
This was purchased for my nephew for his birthday. All the Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway are built to a good standard replicating the characters seen in the Thomas & Friends TV show. I personally couldn't tell the difference between the different trains, i thought all the blue ones were Thomas. My Nephew has hours of fun playing with all the characters and the train set.######Overall######If you are a parent, uncle or aunt you can't go wrong with these as a birthday present or Christmas present for any budding Fat/Thin controller (I have to say that as these days there is a Thin Controller and Ringo Star is no longer the narrator). I just can't get over the price of these toys, they are made of wood.

A disappointment in comparison to the other TtTE models
With a toddler (2yo) who is utterly obsessed with trains, Brio, Thomas the tank engine and Hiro this was an obvious purchase. He's in love with it which is all that matters, right? No, sadly, it isn't. I've a number of issues with this that would deter me from recommending it:1 - there's a lot of plastic on it2 - construction is a bit shoddy, the coal in the second carriage is coming off3 - (and this is the biggie) it doesn't fit under either the wooden Brio bridge or the plastic Thomas the TE 'Wooden train set' bridge. This is a pain, as the aforementioned toddler gets massively fumrustrated by this, rendering it more or less unusable.Real shame, the other Thomas trains all fit under (just) both bridges, why this is taller is beyond me.If he wasn't so in love with the actual model this would be going straight back.Whilst on the subject of the Thomas wooden train set, I get that they're all different manufacturers, but whilst IKEA, Brio, Big Jigs and John Lewis all manage to have the same dimensions for their track pieces, the Thomas ones are ALL slightly taller, and the straight ones are all slightly shorter. Which is a pain.

Imaginative play brought to life
My toddler daughter absolutely loves Thomas and Friends and it is an utter delight watching her play with her trains. Seeing a child's imagination blossom must be one of the great privileges of parenthood. I'd rather have her playing with real toys than a tablet device any day of the week. And the wooden engines in this series, including 'Henry', are fantastic for imaginative, educational play. I've found these toys to be fairly robust and hard-wearing and I'm looking forward to our son inheriting them when his big sister eventually grows out of them. I've got a feeling I'm not alone here as a parent either: kids today will have plenty of time for electronic gadgetry when they're older.

Top quality Thomas character
Got this after seeing the fantastic film Thomas & Friends: King of the Railway [DVD ]The main character (apart from the usual Thomas & friends) is this engine, based on Stephenson's Rocket. My (nearly) 3 year old was very taken by Stephen, talking about him for days afterwards. Needless to say, he was delighted when I got him this! It's a good quality toy - nicely built, colourful, and good intricate detail, brass coloured funnel, with dome and whistle more brown coloured than the picture seems to show.As you'd expect, fits well with the usual wooden railway systems (we have a mixture of Brio and Bigjigs), and the other accessories. In summary, highly recommended.

Good present
This item was purchased as a present for my nephew. He loves the Thomas and Friends toys. He is making quite a large collection for his toy box and is obsessed by Bill and Ben, in fact he kept repeating their name for around 45 minutes when he was presented with Bill and Ben.These are good quality toys which should prove indestructible for a while.I would recommend these for any child. Works well as a present.

Porter is a nice addition to our collection
Not heard or Porter before, but our little one seems to like it either way. Great price. We found a few scenes with him in on YouTube. Now he’s always talking about “Porter.” Really durable and like the fact it is made of wood.
