Assumed effective. Seems good to have around to manage emergencies.However, this box was packaged poorly in an envelope and box was damaged. I am glad to participate in less packaging waste until the prodcut is damaged. in this case the box was damaged. I will still put this into my Build-Your-Own First Aid kit.

This product... All I can really say is " MAKE IT APART OF YOUR FIRST AID KIT". For any family or single people's who are prone to accidents and end up opening your flesh to see the lovely shade of liquid red.My darling husband is such a individual who seems probed to such whoopsies. Two nights ago he decided to add a bit of his own finger (inside tip of his thumb) to a batch of thinly sliced red onions(for sweet pickled red onions .. fab on salads and sammiches) we didn't have this item yet so EMTs were called just in case and we thought he lucked out on going to the ER. Fast forward almost 20 hours...We had just received this item and were about to change his bandages as instructed when to our dismay the wound was still bleeding. Hubby passed out and 911 was called yet again. But during their way to us and while they spoke to me and my hubby his thumb was jammed into a good amount of the Bleed stop. He went to the ER and by the time he got there the bleeding had finally stopped.It is now the next morning and he is home are and no longer bleeding. This product is amazing that's all I can say.Turns out this is a military grade product that doesn't burn or sting. There is plenty in this package to spread out over time. Just get an air tight container to use when you need. Will definitely be buying more. 5 stars isn't enough for this product.

After moving into a house where I expected to be living by myself for the foreseeable future, when I went to setup my kitchen, it occurred to me that many accidents can happen in the kitchen, and being by myself, there may not be much margin for error when dealing with an accident that happens when I'm alone. So, I did some shopping on Amazon for emergency kits, but along with buying one of those, I stumbled across this "BleedStop" and bought it, thinking "why not?" Turns out to have been a very smart move.A few months later, I was in the kitchen unpacking a new potato-slicer, and didn't realize they didn't put any protective packaging on the blades - I ended up pressing my finger against one of the blades and sliced it pretty deep - blood was going everywhere. I grabbed my first-aid kit under the sink, but my hands were so bloody I couldn't grip any of the bandages and other stuff to open them. I quickly remembered the BleedStop and opened the box, but of course, my hands were too bloody to open the packets - I resorted to tearing the packet open with my teeth, then just shoved my cut finger into the open pouch and buried it in the BleedStop powder. This slowed the bleeding considerably, albeit with a huge glob of mixed blood-and-powder attached to my finger. I finally stabilized the situation by using better-at-doing-everything paper towels, wrapping my finger and the glob of BleedStop in them tight, which formed a sort of makeshift plaster cast on my finger that stayed there for a day or two before I removed it and replaced it with proper bandaging. But, the upshot is, the BleedStop worked, and it really helped.

Haven’t used it yet, but arrived in time, in good shape, as ordered. 4 packs / each seems to have a decent amount of product in each. I can’t imagine what kind of cut I’d need to use a whole pack anyway. Let’s hope we don’t need to find that out. Good deal and one more pack included than our local pharmacy.
