Simms Freestone Ambidextrous Tactical Fishing Sling Pack, Water Resistant Bag, Tan

I've used a fishing vest with large chest packs and a large backpack also for years. I centerpin fish and I was able to organize my gear, which was well needed. And this pack is something I never thought I'd use, but now it's something I will not go without. Having my chest open for casting and fighting fish is great. The easy to use pack is even sweetie when standing in the river and unclipping the bottom strap to swing the pack around to the pockets is the s...!! Simms definitely got this one right!! 🖒🖒

This pack is exactly as described on Amazon. Meets my requirements. I especially like the pocket for the net. I have tried it configured for both right and left shoulder. Works well on either side. Would like to have an external pocket for water bottle. Highly recommend this for anglers, especially if you hike in to the river.

Very solid well made pack but on the small side. I’m left handed so really wanted an ambidextrous pack. I found this one to be a little difficult to open. Ultimately I had to return due to it being difficult for me but was still impressed with the quality of its construction.

Husband absolutely loves this backpack. He uses it for fly fishing. When you wear the backpack and flip it around front, it’s perfect to reach in and grab what you need.

Really great quality that would be expected from Simms. However, it’s a little smaller than I had expected.

I liked the look of this sling, as the size and features seemed to be just what I wanted. Imagine my disappointment when what I received was so much less than promised. First off, the volume. Advertised as 15L (nearly 4 US gallons!), it is nothing near that. If you just multiply up the dimensions you get less than 11L, and that assumes it is a rectangular brick, which it clearly is not. I would be very surprised if it is more than half the promised 15L. Secondly, if you examine the photos you will see that the internal panel with mesh pockets is attached to the back of the sling with plastic buckles, forming a divider that allows you to store items on both sides. In reality, it is attached with velcro, and you cannot store anything behind it. Other than that I liked it, it seemed nicely constructed, and it would have been a fine purchase, if only it actually had the advertised features.
