No as in ZERO licorice flavor
They are a bit larger than Brach's jelly beans. The coating is firm with a nice crunch. The inside is firmer than Brach's but in a less sticking to teeth way. They will color your tongue for several hours after eating a couple. They sound perfect, don't they?I don't know what the flavor is but it is not licorice. It's perhaps a woody flavor but not pine or cedar or oak or mesquite. There is a tobacco hint, like pipe tobacco or perhaps Copenhagen. There's a hint of something else that I really can't figure it out. The flavor isn't exactly horrible but I have no desire to eat this. I don't even want to smell it.Amazon says "This item isn't eligible for return". I guess I wasted $12.63 for a two pound bag of jelly beans.I'll see what the the grocery store has around Easter.

Licorice Jelly beans quality gone to pot
Ordered black licorice jelly beans first time about a year. Delicious. Ordered more several times. Taste changed to a slight burned taste but still enjoyable. Ordered 3 bags, received today. Virtually tasteless. Huge quality control problem. Sadly will not be reordering.

Bigger.... harder jelly beans.
I've loved the taste of licorice jelly beans since I was a grade school kid. These are the first licorice jelly beans I've seen for sale in years. They're larger, harder, & not quite as flavorful as the ones that were available at WalMart when I was growing up, but they're not terrible either. I've ordered them twice, but I don't think I'll be re-ordering them again.

Black Licorice Flavor?
The flavor is sort of black licoricish but these jelly beans are not not made from natural licorice. I do like the texture and the size. If you are a licorice aficionado you may be disappointed. I liked what I bought and will buy again.

Even if you're a jellybean lover, this STILL might not be the candy for you.
Half of the people you speak with may not care for any type of licorice at all. For others, it's just black jellybeans that they stay away from. I'm not entirely sure that these would win over people in either group. The outer candy layer is hard, verging on crunchy. The inside tastes artificial. It's not always easy to find licorice jellybeans - even at Easter - but I wouldn't search for them if this was what I'd find.
