Cardinals have a special meaning for some of us who have lost a loved one. Rarely do u notice or see the female cardinal, one easily recognizes the brilliant red male cardinal. I have several wooden red cardinals throughout my house. When I saw they offered the female I had to have it. In the wild both birds are together, we just never notice the female's presence, but she is usually with the male. I was disappointed that this bird appears to have cracked then might have been repaired. You can see the crack or imperfection in the photos. Its only on one side and bottom.This bird is very small, compared to other wooden birds I have collected, but still love it. I do not care for the 1 1/2” wooden cube, the cube looks cheap. The wooden bird looks hand carved and special detailing adds to its uniqueness. Bird lovers will appreciate the craftsmanship of this collection. I wish mine did not have an imperfection. Please note the red bird shown is not part of this set. It was used as comparison for size. It came in a little giftable plain box. I feel it's priced a little expensive for the size. I do wish it was a little bigger.

I wanted to thank a friend, who recently, like me, lost her husband. The small red cardinal was such a perfect symbol and was beautifully crafted.
