I gave 5-stars for this product. It is really worth the money spent on this kit. I used the black waxed thread and awl/needle to repair my old rav-4 spare tire cover.

Thread seems pretty strong and is nicely waxed. Thimble is comically too small for me and the thread puller pulled out of the handle on it’s third use, seems to have just been shoved in there I saw no evidence of glue. But for how much the kit is I believe the waxed thread would be worth it.

Used the sewing awl to do a heavy duty stitches for winter waxed canvas horse blanket. Was easy to hand stitch with the wooden handle and push though waxed canvas material. The supplied waxed thread was clean to thread through needle , no special tools. This improved the blanket durability to the naughty behavior of my horses . Just in time for the cold weather repairs.

I purchased this kit, for a specific purpose; to sew a significant cut in a waxed heavy canvas brace-bag, filled with small plastic beads. The kit worked perfectly, and I was able to easily do the repair, and put the brace-bag back into full service. Great product, at a great price!

The metal they use is weak. I already snapped a needle on repairing my leather couch. But for the price it's a decent deal. TheString seams to be good quality. The kit does not hold the everything in place so when u open it be ready for it to fall out everywhere.
