I love this little analog radio!
When I started looking for a transistor analog radio I saw this little Sanjean radio and swooped it up. I'm so glad I did!The on/off switch and volume control has that old-fashioned positive feel to it that the modern electronic versions don't have. The station wheel is solid and a little LED lights up when the signal is strong. Very little drift; the stations hold steady. Good reception, both AM & FM, and I live in an area where hills do get in the way. The little guy fits in my hand or pocket just right. It does need a corded earpiece and I've found a single-ear monaural one works better than the dual one that came with the unit.

Okay but low on the volume.
A cool little radio, but it's not very loud. Even with very efficient headphones, it's still pretty low on the volume. It seems to have decent reception for a small radio. The FM is decent and AM is okay. You can't fit much of a ferrite rod in there anyway.

would not hold stations
It functioned OK but would not hold stations making it difficult to listen to on my walking routine. It may work just fine in your location. Sadly, I had to return it.

Great simple radio!
This arrived today and I've had some time to try it out. The reception is as good as my sr35 and hdr-14, sometimes a little better. Sangean radios are my favorite. I have five different models. For am/fm they have better reception than other radios I have from Sony, Radio Shack, Grundig, and Retekess purchased over the past 35 years.

Does What It Says On The Tin. Mostly.
I wanted the smallest (and cheapest) AM/FM radio from a brand I recognized and this is it, from what I can tell. It works. It is pretty small. Feels pretty solid. Reception is pretty good on FM and for local AM stations. You can only do so much with a 2" long ferrite rod. But, as other reviews have stated, the DSP tuning is very touchy. It's a small dial so all the frequencies are packed in real tight. Also the tuning wheel has a little bit of a rubber band effect so you have to tune past the station you want because the dial rolls back when you let it go. There's also a pretty high noise floor on both AM and FM.None of those downsides are too big of a deal to me because I'm just taking this radio to ballgames, but if you're looking for a more primary radio, I'd recommend something else.

Stations keep going in and out
I think the reception is too strong. The tuning is very touchy. It picks up alot of stations but none too good. Seemed to pick up on more than one station at once. Never seemed to tune in right. Volume isnt real loud either. And its heavy with two AA batteries in it. Had to drive 15 miles to UPS to return it. Their are much better small AM FM radios.

Good radio
I like to go old school and put down the smart electronics now and then. This radio is perfect.
