Very happy with this screen door.
Arrived neatly packaged. Fast and easy to assemble. Fit great. Looks great. Does the job. I would not hesitate to buy another if needed.

Decent door that fits perfectly
I was a little apprehensive about getting this door based on some of the reviews because, while I do a lot of DIY stuff around the house, I have never installed a screen in a frame before. In the end, the door arrived on time and in good condition (though the end of the tube was a bit difficult to remove), and the assembly was not difficult, particularly after watching the video. Even better, the door fits perfectly in the frame of our 40-year-old sliding glass door and is so close in color to the door that it looks like it came with it. My only less-than-positive comment would be that the description on amazon makes it sound like the door is heavy and solid. It's not. I wouldn't call it flimsy, but it is not what I would call "heavy duty", though for the price it seems about right. Happily, our sliding glass door was mounted backward when the house was built, so the screen door is on the inside and I don't have to worry about it standing up to the elements.

Terrible Door
I was excited to install a screen door to help let out the heat at night. However, the quality and building tools provided are poor quality. The door is only held together by 8 screws which are incredibly difficult to get into place. The tool provided to push in the spine is probably the worst I’ve ever been provided. It has a sharp edge which causes the spine to roll as you apply pressure and doesn’t go into the grove far enough to secure the screen properly. We had to use a flat screw driver to push it in all the way, especially around the corners. The corners by the screen are also very sharp unfinished metal which causes small tears in the screen so I doubt it will last a long time. Overall, I wish I had not bought it and will be looking for a better quality replacement.

Installed in Less Than 2 hours!
The KD Heavy Duty Screen Door Kit has a nice sturdy Frame -- better than my original Screen Door Frame. Many of the old fiberglass screens in my house have failed over the years, so I was not impressed that the Kit came with a fiberglass screen. I went to my local big box store and bought a roll of premium screen and compatible spline. I threw out the screen and spline that came with the Kit. If you have never re-screened a Patio Door (or at least a few windows) then I think this Kit is probably NOT for you. It only took me 2 hours to assemble Frame, install Screen, and finally install completed Door and locking latch. If you do this kind of work (re-screening) frequently or even occasionally, then this Kit probably is a good choice for you.

Love this door!
We replaced our old retractable screen door with this new slider. It's perfect!! It glides so great and smooth. The tool provided was a little challenging than other screen tools we've used in the past, but it worked. The trick to installing the screen is trying to get it tight enough to look good and not damage it when you cut the excess. Would highly recommend this door, great value and product for the cost. The biggest compliment we continue to receive is how smooth it slides, plus I love that it locks too.

mixed bag
my door was shipped with very little care, arriving in broken packaging, bent out of shape in many places and smaller plastic pieces shattered and unusable.construction is a bit like of a shlep. screws that need screwing demand a long and narrow screwdriver plus considerable patience. magnetic screwdriver recommend.once the frame is built, installing the screen can take patience as well, but is relatively easy to get the hang of.final product is… ok. the adjustable height of the track catching portions is well thought out and is almost worth it. but the damaged pieces and irritating aspects of construction don’t seem worth it - especially when considering the fact that a fully assembled door can run about the same price.

Easy to assemble, works just fine.
I'm very happy with this door but let me start off with the Cons:1. Like others have experienced, a small part was not included in the sealed bag of screws and latch parts. For me it was the latch part than goes on the wall. I don't need it but I notified the company anyway. They give their phone number and email address on the instruction sheet. I suggest you immediately compare the parts you receive to the pictured parts list of what should be there.2. The 1.5" wide rubber seal/bug strip that runs down the length of the non-latch side of the door frame was curled up against the door frame member from being tightly packaged so it didn't quite reach the glass of the sliding door. No biggie, I laid it out flat on a work bench and blasted it with a heat gun and now it's fine. That's it, no more ConsThe door assembled quickly and even putting the screen in was easy with two people - one to keep some mild tension on the screen to reduce "billowing" in the center. The spring-loaded, expandable roller bars at top and bottom are very clever. This will make perfect sense when you do it. Install them but do not tighten them. Compress them both when you situate the door on the sliding door tracks and then let the springs re-expand them into position and you've got a perfect fit. Then tighten the screws to lock it it. These expandable roller bars are what give the door a 6 inch range of sliding door frames they will work with. This is not a heavyweight door and it was only $90 so that's the context in which to evaluate it.

Does not fit 77.5" opening
This is a very nice door however there are two major issues. First I bought the door since it was advertised to fit 77.5" opening. I finally managed to tightly squeeze the screen door into the opening but I had to remove the springs and basically jam the door on the rails. The second major issue is that the screen material is very fragile; I managed to cut the screen in two places by simply installing the spline. For the expense of the door the screen material is poor (at best). I'm keeping the door because it's made really well but I'm very unhappy with the fit and the screen material.
