Great price and works well, 120VAC + 240VAC
Well made and seems water tight, has seen heavy rain and not a problem. Adjust the amps before you plug into the car, the timer is in hour increments. Using 120vac allows higher amps for a plugin Prius 2015 but the higher amps make the cable get warm. Using it on 240vac limits the current to about 9.7-9.8 amps in the Prius and that keeps the cable cool, charging at 6 amps works well enough at the higher voltage but it does charge faster at 240vac and 6 amps. Mine did come with a 120vac 15amp standard plug adapter cord but I installed a dual outlet 20amp 120vac/20amp 240vac receptacle in an outdoor water proof box so I can plug right in with the cord without an adapter. Would be nice if the timer stopped when it finished charging but it doesn't.

Great solution for low price
Got this so that I can occasionally charge family members cars on my existing 20A, 240V plug. The fact that it has built in current limiting capabilities as what I was looking for. Easy to use.

worked great for 6 months
i bought this to charge my ev from my solar array & liked the adjustable charging rate & timer function.this charger worked great for 6 months now it only works if a hit it with the palm of my hand & sometimes it takes quite a few hits. i'm only giving this charger 1 star until i hear from the manufacture . i hope the warranty is longer than 6 monthsupdate- the manufacture wanted a pic or video of the malfunction before they would i assume send me a new one. only problem is for some reason when i send the pic & video in an email it isnt viewable & ive tried a few times. ive spent to much time on trying to remedy the situation that it was more cost & time effective to just buy a new one from another manufacture.this manufacture offered no other way to help me

Good value for PHEV or small EV.
I bought this for use with my 16 Hyundai Sonata PHEV. If you have an EV or a battery larger then 9.8 kWh you might want to look at a higher amperage unit. That being said, this is a big improvement over my stock charger. On the 16A setting at 120V it cut 2 hours off my charge time 10%-99%. It will not pull more then 14.8A @ 120V. I have not had the chance to use it yet at 240V, but I'm looking forward to not having it plugged in for 5 hrs for a full charge.I've seen other reviews say that the adapter does not come with it, but mine came with one. I returned the one I ordered. The cables on the input side are all 12 gauge, but the cord from the controller to the car is 14 gauge. So far the only part that gets little warm is the wall plug. Might be the extension cord I have it plugged into (10 gauge), but not enough heat to cause a fire. The display is well lit and keeps track of my power usage as well as the charging time, but it does not show the state the battery. The battery icon only cycles to show it is charging.Overall I am satisfied with my purchase. The only reason I'm giving this a 4 star is the carrying case. The double zipper likes to split open on the one end, and I think it could be a little bigger. You have to roll the cord up pretty tight to get it to fit back in.

Mostly works, sometimes doesnt
This charger helped me realize that I do have a 220v 16a outlet in my house. The outlet was in my dining room and I wasn't sure if it worked or not. I planned on using this charger as mobile solution for my off grid solar setup and continuing to use the level 1 120v charging I have at home. This unit came with a plug type I saw but never tried. Turns out this outlet in my old ass home was active and for a large air conditioner. I ended up relocating this outlet to a better location in my specifically for charging. I am extremely grateful that this charger helped me.realize I could cut my charging time in half. However this unit needs to be unplugged and plugged back in once every 3 - 5 charging sessions. Not quite sure why, it was doing this before I moved the outlet and after. My car just occasionally will tell me that the charger isnt supplying power. That's why I gave it 3 stars. Mostly works but I can't rely on it. I need to check to make sure it's charging before I go to bed because power cycling means I need to go downstairs into my basement.

Meets all my needs, including long cord, at a fair price
The media could not be loaded. This unit meets my needs for a long cord EVSE that can be reduced to 24 amps and STAY AT 24 AMPS for safety. As long as it stays plugged in, the set current limit cannot be tampered with. As you can see in my video, the car pulls well under than the negotiated amperage, meaning that the signals are being transmitted correctly. The built-in current transformer shows usage consistent with my home energy monitor (see photo side-by-side with my app), so if I needed to track kWh usage, I would feel confident relying on the unit to report correctly. The build quality of the EVSE itself seems very good; the 25 foot cord is very convenient; the connector handle feels pretty cheap, but so far has been working fine. I confirmed that it will automatically restart at the previously set current after a power outage. You do lose the measured kWh reading if there’s an outage, but at least you won’t wake up to a car with a dead battery. Please watch my video for more details and tests.
