The Butterflies

I love to hate the nasty characters! The author's writing keeps me interested in the story and I laugh out loud at times. For instance, Win, the successful entrepreneur, is "standing in tall cotton." I can literally see him feeling so proud of himself. He's made it, so to speak, in his eyes. This horrendous man makes a living by photographing children and selling the pictures. When he arrives home, he "gives a nod to God, somewhere up beyond the roof of his garage and says, 'Thank you. I'm truly blessed'." What irony!! The thing is--there are truly people like this in society. So believable.

Ordered this book for a book club read. We all loved it. A great quick read that I could not put down.
