I have no complaints about this watch. It looks great (in my opinion) and it is made well. I have been wearing it daily for about 2 months now and am thoroughly satisfied with it.The crystal has not sustained any scratches yet, but there is a very slight scratch on the case from normal wear and tear; I do not lead a rough-and-tumble lifestyle, but I do bump into my fair share of doors/tables/walls. As long as you're not rock-climbing with this watch, I think you'll be fine.I have received more compliments regarding this watch than any other watch I've ever worn. People love its clean design and classic look.Plus point: The clean, neutral look of this watch allows it to match with basically anything you wear, including business clothes. I'm a med student and this is great for me since I don't have enough money to buy multiple watches to coordinate with my clothes.

The stem broke making this watch a piece of junk. I wonder if it's authentic or a fake.

First, this is not being sold by an authorized Mondaine Dealer and will not have a manufacturers warranty.Second, this is a fashion time piece and not a fine watch.Third, the innards are cheapNow, as to why it still gets four starts from me.First, the seller gives a limited return period. Like most electronics, it will either fail right off the bat or work for years. If you are going to allow your fear of loss to dictate your life, go pay $50 extra to get the same watch from a dealer. I'm willing to bet that I will come out $50 ahead of you.Second, it is pretty. So pretty that Apple had to pay a reported multi-million dollar sum when one of its icon makers ripped off what they thought was a public domain design. I like the design myself, that is why I bought it.Third, I don['t really care if the watch is only accurate to 30 seconds a month. I run at least five minutes late so paying large sums of money to get accuracy is not worth it. If I need insane accuracy, I'll just look at the GPS on my dash. Someone in here also complained about the day/date moving between 9pm and 2am. As I take off a watch when I get home, I'll have to take their word for it: not that it matters.Now there are two irritations:First, the so called manual available online from the manufacturer is a joke. You have to experiment if you are going to learn to set the day and date. First time you click it to position one is the date. Push back in and pull back out to position one again: now you are into the Day. You can only move it one day at a time AND the watch works in two languages, so you can look to 14+ clicks to move around if the clock is on the wrong date. Only redeeming factor: you'll probably only do this once if you are like me and toss a sub $200 watch once the two year battery runs out.

For the watch as a daily driver. Not a fashion watch use. It's amazingly stood up to rain, hand washing at work every week. Heat, and cold. Bumps and nicks on door frames every now and then, and the watch hasn't came off my wrist for more than an hour in over a year. It houses the Swiss Ronda 517 movement inside. Proof of my wrist I haven't kept it off it for more than an hour everyday. I even slept with it on! Taking a rest for a day o le two to let it heal up. I'm currently homeless, and it has handled the humidity very well too. Including rain and dust and dirt from cycling for 2 months. This watch also has been in my previous car in extreme heat and it hasn't gotten destroyed. I'm impressed and recently I took a look inside to find out it has metal gears and parts. Metal gears is a huge plus over plastic ones from cheaper Japanese branded movements. I will never buy a watch without a Ronda again. I really recommend this watch. Or any with a Ronda included!

The styling and finish is absolutely gorgeous in an efficient Swiss way, combining all the aspects I love about Germanic and Romance cultural aesthetics. However, I have to rate this watch poorly because the fundamentals--its function as a watch--are just so poorly carried off.This does not run "like a Swiss watch". A close inspection of the movement reminds you of some cheap Chinese-made quartz analog. The hands do not sweep out proportional distances as time passes. What this means is that when the minute hand is at the half hour mark (30 minutes) the hour hand should be exactly half way between two full hours. It's off by as much as four minute marks. Another way to explain it is to think about the hands' position at midnight. All the hands should stick perfectly straight up, but the hour hand will point out awkwardly to one side or the other.The mechanics of the watch leave much to be desired as well. There is so much slop in the crown that you can wiggle it back and forth considerably with no movement of the hands. Pressing it in or pulling it out also causes the hands to jump by as much as two minutes. It just feels cheap.It's a beautiful looking watch but it's incredibly disappointing once you actually start using it. Either avoid this brand entirely, or look to one of their higher end automatics. Although for the money you'd probably be much happier with a mid-level Japanese automatic.

Wonderful watch. Great Swiss Railroad watch. Since I have a small wrist it fits great! Easily tell time/date. From midnight to 2 am the day changes from English to French then back to English after 2 am. Quirky and fun. Keeps good time. Quality is good, Manual was easy to figure out how to set the watch. I do not understand how others had trouble setting the date/time. Just read the directions. You get a 2 year warranty through Amazon not Mondaine but who cares, as long as somebody fixes it if it breaks. For the others that complained about losing some seconds here or there, go out and buy a Breitling. This is a great watch for the price.

I am so disappointed in this watch. It was bought as a gift for my husband and has never worked. The second hand works, but neither the minute, hour or date hands/display work. I had hoped to be able to get a repair or replacement but it appears I can only return it.

The watch does not keep the time. Suddenly it is 10 minutes late or 11 hours late. Now, it is 1 hour and 25 minutes before official time, the date id correct but the week day has gone from English to French. I sent it back to the seller. The seller claims to have tested it and concluded that it the clock is ok and returned it to me. Mondaine has let the quality go down. My previous Mondaine worked for 12 years without any problems. Stay away from Mondaine watches.

Ich kannte die Uhr bereits von früher, sie ist sehr schön, übersichtlich, stabil, gut ablesbar(auch ohne Brille) , ohne unnötigen Schnick-Schnack, schönes Armband. Ob sie Wasserdicht und Kratzfest ist, kann ich momentan noch nicht sagen. Ich denke aber schon.Was mir leider einen Wermutstropfen verursacht hat, ist die Tatsache, dass die Uhr aus Barcelona kam. Im Karstadt Lörrach hätte ich sie auch erwerben können.
