Neon Genesis Evangelion: The Shinji Ikari Raising Project Omnibus Volume 5

I love the series and this omnibus is perfect.

This is, like I have said before, a great series for those fans of NGE out there. Pros of this include the great artwork, I said in earlier reviews that Misato didn't quite look right, however as this series progresses she is looking more like the Misato I am familiar with. A new girl is introduced in this particular volume, making the duo of Rei and Asuka now a trio. Still kind of a lot of the slip-fall-cop-a-feel mantra, however they are starting to hint at some underlying plot. This is fine with me since the original was so devoid of comedy and or fan service. Like I have said, great for those who love NGE!

If this story has an overarching story...and we keep seeing Akagi getting lectured by Seele, so something must be going on...but if it's there it's not getting anywhere. Instead, we get more fan service. That is all.

Neon Genesis Evangelion The Shinji Ikari Raising Project volume 5 in this volume we get the school tournament arc where Asuka and Shinji team up to win for there class. We get Rei and Shinji traveling to the shadow world from Persona 4 Golden. Lastly the most important aspect is the fanservice heavy bonus hotsprings featuring Rei, Asuka, and Misato the real best girl of Evangelion. There's also bonus new characters and lots of laughs the manga remains funny. This series is easily one of my personal favorites as an Evangelion seeing the characters who usually suffer have a break from there suffering is a nice change of pace.

Anything Eva gets 5 stars from me.
